I don't really have the money to invest in Flashboot Pro but I have a HP Omen 30L PC with a i7-10700F and a rtx 2060 and I been looking at guides all over and can't figure out how to install 7 on one of my spare SSDs next to my Windows 11 installation I have on an M.2. Every time I get to the Starting Windows screen it loads halfway and then reboots and does it every single time. Any definitive guide to use or should I actually go for Flashboot and it will work?
For integrating drivers dism should do the trick but on vista/win 7 dism is a bit insufficient, therefor it probably needs the AIK installed or an ADK so dism can handle it.
No idea how to do that, I just looked at some of the forum posts, ran the batch file along with the Windows 10 installer to make it work, but either one time it would tell me that it couldn't boot to the next phase or it would actually install really fast and then it would freeze. I'm pretty new to this so I'm sorry about that
So open your BIOS settings and search for CSM or Legacy Boot and disable it then try booting from win7 installer
I doubt that when windows 11 is installed with no CSM enabled (pure UEFI) an installation of win 7 would install with csm enabled, and when it does, the win 11 install most likely won't boot anymore. When csm is enabled for the win 11 install then win 7 should simply boot, afaik. May i ask why on earth you would want to install an EOS OS on such beast and not just enjoy the 100% support of win 10/11?
Mostly just because of nostalgic reasons . Also the BIOS is pretty limited on the omen pc, i was able to disable secure boot but theres not many options I have. If I do actually lose capability of booting into 11 that would suck yeah, but even with my SSD unplugged it tells me to boot either into 7 or 11 and of course, 7 won't work.
Windows 10+ just suck, and they have telemetry and other things. Also Windows 7 runs much better and faster even on beast computers...
7 can't even service itself properly anymore and it's kinda EOS. 7 is fine on systems which still have manufacturer support.
OK, you can try using UEFISeven. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...boot-windows-7-on-uefi-class-3-devices.82137/
What do I use to install? Flashboot Free edition or just do a regular rufus install and pop in the files after it finishes putting it on the usb drive? I have a windows 7 ultimate iso
