hello I was wondering what's the solution for getting windows 7 installed on computers that don't have CSM? Is it just using flashboot pro?
It is actually not that easy and depends on the exact hardware in use. The results vary and can be split into multiple categories: - Category 1, everything works, either by using Flashboot Pro, or the MDL in-house solution, UEFISeven. Either original or modded drivers are available. In this case, yay, enjoy. - Category 2, it mainly works like Cat1, but you have to sacrifice one or more non-critical devices (mostly WiFi) due to drivers not being available. They can be replaced by alternatives that work. - Category 3, installation works, but drivers for critical devices (chipset, graphics, audio) are not available. If you can't find modded/backported ones, the experience becomes very unpleasant. - Category 4, there are devices where you can straight forget it. They don't even let you install Windows 7 without crashing.
Update I finally got windows 7 after loads of trial & error installed, only to discover there's really no compatible drivers for my hardware. For some odd reason the modified drivers amd ryzen drivers from winraid (canonkong beleive is his username) don't seem to be triggering aero & windows 7 isn't detecting them despite device manager saying they are installed, can't find a wifi driver my wifi driver is "realtek rtl8821ce 802.11ac pcie adapter" there's realtek rtl8821ce driver for windows 7 but doesn't seem to install, & the touchpad doesn't work. Then using snappy driver it's able to find some drivers that supposedly match my hardware but then causes a BSOD assuming do to drivers that snappy driver installs not working correctly. So eh probably out of luck here.
