hello I was wondering what's the solution for getting windows 7 installed on computers that don't have CSM? Is it just using flashboot pro?
It is actually not that easy and depends on the exact hardware in use. The results vary and can be split into multiple categories: - Category 1, everything works, either by using Flashboot Pro, or the MDL in-house solution, UEFISeven. Either original or modded drivers are available. In this case, yay, enjoy. - Category 2, it mainly works like Cat1, but you have to sacrifice one or more non-critical devices (mostly WiFi) due to drivers not being available. They can be replaced by alternatives that work. - Category 3, installation works, but drivers for critical devices (chipset, graphics, audio) are not available. If you can't find modded/backported ones, the experience becomes very unpleasant. - Category 4, there are devices where you can straight forget it. They don't even let you install Windows 7 without crashing.
Update: I finally got windows 7 after loads of trial & error installed, only to discover there's really no compatible drivers for my hardware. For some odd reason the modified drivers amd ryzen drivers from winraid (canonkong beleive is his username) don't seem to be triggering aero & windows 7 isn't detecting them despite device manager saying they are installed, can't find a wifi driver my wifi driver is "realtek rtl8821ce 802.11ac pcie adapter" there's realtek rtl8821ce driver for windows 7 but doesn't seem to install, & the touchpad doesn't work. Then using snappy driver it's able to find some drivers that supposedly match my hardware but then causes a BSOD assuming do to drivers that snappy driver installs not working correctly. So eh probably out of luck here. Update 2: I was trying to get windows 7 to work again got everything working this time except the GPU, I tried slip streaming/integrating the GPU into the iso, tried wufuc, tried wuacpufix, & other things though no luck whatsoever. Though the crazy thing is I can install vcredist all in one repack & install the directx either with the repack or the websetup from microsoft & that somehow improves the performance all over the place. Another thing is youtube will play videos at 720p at 60fps though trying to play 1080p videos is a no go. I checked out gpu-z it shows my gpu stats, temps, & the modified ryzen driver installed. Checking why aero won't work says wddm isn't supported then checked why sleep mode & other power settings arn't working it says sleep & etc isn't supported or being blocked by vgasave. I did try disabling vgasave it then just hangs on the windows 7 logo upon boot. Anyway It leads me to believe the moddfied ryzen driver is partially working or else installing directX, vc redist all in one pack wouldn't speed up & improve the performance. Then probably wouldn't be able to watch YouTube videos at 720p at 60fps without issues. So eh yeah probably best to throw in the towel unless I want to use a partially working GPU with no power management features working like sleep mode & etc, & of course no aero. I mean I managed to get everything working except the GPU & can't solve this whatsoever. Though eh if someone decides to make new & more updated modified drivers for amd ryzen compatible with windows 7 would try again with those but eh doubt someone will & I am not that smart to try to modify drivers on my own. Final Update: I thought I would let everyone know I decided to install windows 8.1 to see if the driver actually worked & discovered on windows 8.1 the modified AMD Ryzen GPU driver from canonkong (over on the winraid forums) works. So that means from what I am guessing/thinking is that something in the flashbootpro or other efi files like flashboot's is preventing the GPU driver from being used. Though granted this isn't for everyone but it seems to be an issue on certain devices. Though how you can fix something like that is beyond me. So eh just going to be running windows 8.1 for the foreseeable future since everything works.
I install the win7 on intel Arrow Lake Platform use flashbootpro, it can help us to install and run win7, but the video cars will code 12 error. Becaue of the mainboard not have correct VGA arbitration. So need to fix the VGA arbitration. Than all can work fine on Nvidia/AMD/Glenfly cards.
