It'd be August 30th then wouldn't it, because it says 30 days trial.

could you not just block internet access to M$ via firewall / host file / router etc etc?
Or even just kill the call home process.

    ^^^^

As above, and I remember seeing this done before as well, it seems as though there's no automatic 30 day trial as was the case with your Embedded trial. Whether MS has a remote kill switch in mind, however, is another thing...

Yeah but people have been removing keys an it's making no difference in the nags it produces?

I'm using it as my main OS but even if something did happen I've got a image of Windows 7 to fall back on, Windows 8 isn't all that special to me, it new, I'm just caught in the moment of wanting to try it ;)

Are you saying when M$ servers come online on Aug 15, the Windows 8 RTM re-arm count will drop to just 5? And then it's going to shutdown every 30 minutes or so?

You stated that the verification of keys cannot be done for Windows 8.
This is not true, i already have succesfully activated Windows 8 with my MAK key 2 days ago.

    @FaiKee
Never give a loader that works long term.
There is no BIOSMOD to give the correct long term.
It is impossible to manipulate the MS activation server.

The best way is to remove the complete activation.

    Wrong.
The Best way is to wait for an updated KMS Emulator an use KMS Keys.

This topic is pointless. M$ activation servers are online and w8 can be activated through legit keys such as MAK. The only thing that will happen is that a non acitvated w8 will run out of grace period.
And people still don't get it. There will be no more loader to activate w8.

    Hahahahahahahaha!

Notification mode is the last state after the Grace Period isn't it?

Windows 8 goes straight into Notification mode using the default keys, rearms don't seem to work anyway (at least not how they did in Windows 7), they don't prevent the metro "Activate Windows" watermark.

Yen, if this thread could get people to consider seriously before they decide to make the leaked win8RTM his main OS, and if MS does take action on non-activated win8RTM's, then the thread had served its purpose - I was just amazed about many people in many forums "confirm" that this non-activated win8RTM could work forever.

What is a 8 LEAK without activation value ..

Do they really think the KMS to be successful in the long run ?

    Hahahahahaha !

    Faikee absolutely correct ..

You might be right. I forgot their mentality.....to claim for something without to pay.
But what's different to vista? Vista RTM got reduced functionality mode RFM with black screen and pop up nagging.

People should know that they have to pay if they want w8. And if the grace period and rearm counts are expired people should consider that w8 won't work anymore as expected....
