    Yen,

I read your post "A new way for AMI (old), Phoenix and other bioses: PCI-Mod" and was wondering if there is a way to mod the bios for XP activation.

I have two old AMI boards I would like to try. If it doesn't work its no loss, But would like to try?

I tried DMIscope and it didn't work, Or is there an easier method?

    Let me know?

    Answer the Question Myself.

I had nothing to loose! I had the bios backed up and Have a spare eprom and burner to recover from errors.

So I edited the bios with DMICFG.EXE and it seemed to work on one of the boards. (Soltel 85ervl)! I will try on the PC chips board next!

Thanks for a great site and All this neat! info.

Next time I will read first and ask Q's later!

    Can I have a question?
What does the PCI-Mod to do?

Usualy to maximize CPU performance (folding) the PCI latency should be as low, as possible (16 is nice) and that it is? What PCI mod are for...?

It's a way to add SLIC for Vista activation by exchanging the LAN bootrom module. No hardware performance edit.
