I like 10 but think 7 was quicker to use. ie, change the time. How many clicks and navigating around with the mouse to other locations takes too long for such a simple task. Much simpler with 7. In fact in 10 it's quicker to open a admin cmd prompt & type "time". The only real reason for me to get 10 is support for newer hardware and DX12...
I'm a gamer, i've tried Windows 10, saw no benefit in performance. I'm sure in the future when DX12 has matured and newer GPU's support it better it will be better for gaming.
AMD's newest driver comes with something optional called relive, do I need this installed or is it just for gaming?
Relive is AMD's equivalency of Nvidias Shadowplay as i've understood it. So no, if you have no need to capture gameplay you don't need it.
if you plan on buying Zen(Ryzen) and Kaby Lake and they dont support w7/8/8.1 with drivers, 10 mebbe your only option. thats why im test running 10 now, so if it comes to it, im ontop of it already
I'll only add that if you use a touch screen as I do on one of my lappy's, upping to 10 may be good. Works fine for me. I use 7 and older on everything else. My2cts
So using the newest AMD Driver from the Crimson ReLive package would be preferred over the older version of the basic driver from AMD that comes from Windows Update?
We also already have Vulkan, and Steam VR, along with OSVR, which all happily run under Windows 10, along with 8.1, 7, and (excluding VR currently), Linux. I'll never quite understand the optimism people share for DX12... and I'd figure people to be even less enthusiastic about Microsoft's VR after the train-wreck of Oculus. As for the slide, DX12 multi-GPU and broadcasting... we've had this in the past. Developers barely gave that much care for multi-GPU back in DX9 and 11, and with 12, they have to do even more work to support it. So I guess the 4 games that'll do it properly will be a fine selling point for multi-GPU As for broadcasting, I'd love to see how Microsoft can out-do the various 3rd-party solutions that handle this well already.
of course dude, forget drivers from Windows update I have also AMD A10 7850 and use for now the package from AMD and no problems; still DX12 til now no big improvements
