Hi! Recently I installed Windows 10 Pro setting up the activation via KMS online (using ********** as source), but due to my growing awareness for security and privacy (got my yahoo account hijacked in last year´s hack but could change my password in time and the ccleaner hacking scandal turned me paranoid) I don´t know if I´m opening a backdoor or potential threath to my system (you know, it´s a "pirate" server after all) I know that windows 10 and privacy don´t get along but I always disable as much telemetry as I can (for performance reasons too). Sorry if I sound too noobish
I would strongly advise against using someone else's private server to activate. You're basically telling Windows to "call out" to someone else's home at regular intervals since Windows occasional checks itself to see if it is still valid. You are better off using localhost (your own computer) to KMS Activate.
Just to follow up. -- @abbodi1406 tool seems to be the most current. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...pro-and-office-2013.49686/page-76#post-838808 OP, I can only imagine what changes you made in order to use someone else's server to activate. I would suggest formatting and starting fresh.
Thanks, that´s reassuring Well, no big harm, the system is fresh installed. I thought it was safer that way, avoiding the install of a dubious app/script that could be a trojan in disguise. I set up an online activation using the kms command (slmgr /skms **************) but no idea about the risks it involves (backdoor, vulnerabilities exposed, used port, etc...) Thanks for the script, I´ll check it out. So that would be the most secure way to KMS activate, right? Would it work with W10 LTSB?
Localhost is usually the most secure method (as you control what is or is not on your PC). Yes, it will work with Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB. I use LTSB on my computer as well. If the 1st one does not work, I fall back to this tool too https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...al-kms-solution-for-microsoft-products.28669/
Woah! Reassuring comments, indeed Did a bit of research on reddit too and I think I´ll try the recommended tool. Thanks a bunch!
To follow up on @Nucleus comment with an explanation. --- Anything, no matter how safe, that allows you to 'exploit' Microsoft's usual method of activation will automatically tell you that it is unsafe. You could make your own tool, release it, and as soon as Microsoft discovered it, you can bet every anti-virus program would suddenly report how "bad" your tool was. This is because they're all in bed with one another. Microsoft's marketing for the past decade has been that of fear in hopes to scare everyone silly into thinking the only method is to depend completely 100% on Microsoft themselves (of course it is corporate propaganda https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/buying-windows-10-for-cheap.75184/#post-1373706 )
why not activate legit....upgrade on a win7 using daz loader...or u can find OEM license stickers anywere.
I thought the free upgrade was over.... So, lenient MS because of insufficient W10 userbase, I guess. Thanks for the tip, but I think I´ve got a bit whimsical with the LTSB edition . It saves me the hassle of running debloating tools and running them again once a big update takes place. By the way, anyone knows how to disable linking to a kms online server?. Or simply formatting the PC gets the job done?
Regedit: Code: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform KeyManagementServiceName KeyManagementServicePort If you have run abbodi's KMS VL All host address should be set to: Code: 1.2.7.0 Puzzled as to why it isn't clearing/setting those reg keys for you?
Sorry, silly me I overlooked that line. The KMS_VL_All.cmd handles the job. All traces of previous kms servers cleared. Thank you very much dear sirs! Problem solved
Hi OP & everyone, As the OP did, i first activated windows 10 education via an external KMS (the same as Khan1981).After reading this thread i installed KMS VL ALL by @abbodi1406 and run only the .cmd file without auto-renewal. However, if i write in the powershell: Code: slmgr -dlv i see that the name is cleared aswell as the KMS IP (shows not available). The same results are shown by "check-activation-status" file inside KMS VS folder. Shouldn't i be seeing Code: 1.2.7.0 in the host IP? or is it because i didn't activate auto-renewal? My concern however is to be still linked somehow to the external KMS. Thanks for the content by the way! EDIT: i couldn't find in the regedit KeyManagementServiceName KeyManagementServicePort
Can you explain, why this activation method can harm your pc? Just downloaded Windows 10 Home via Microsfot official tool and activated via this method: slmgr /ipk ххххх- ххххх – ххххх – ххххх – ххххх slmgr /skms [serverhere]:1688 > I used ******** slmgr /ato
