(Where) can the info to manually do this be found? I suppose I'd have to decompile to assembly and then find a certain block and/or hex edit afterwards. I'd like to learn how to and would be happy to provide the patched version if successful, but only of the Insider Preview version(s) I happen to be running.
It would be great if this could work as a service: - check if there's a new version and self-update; - check if LogonController.dll is patched at startup; - if it's not, rename file to LogonController_fileVersionOrMD5.bak (doesn't conflict with previous backed up files) and apply patch again. Manually running the program would offer the option to enable/disable patch and install/remove the service. What do you think?
Personally, I think that would be horrible If it stops working, you'll notice almost immediately anyway, so why have yet another process running in the background? If anything, it could work by just adding a scheduled task, which would do the same, use the default Windows methods of doing so and thus forfeit the need of a permanently running process.
Maybe he ran the patch without permissions or directly from the browser downloads windows, sometimes files fail to run from there.
well it doesn't work for me, just flashes command prompts over and over, i just did it manually and renamed one of the files to logoncontroller.dll and replaced.
Any guidance on "unknown MD5" error on 10.0.14393.935? LSG has been a huge aggravation saver, can't thank you enough. 3/15 correction, .953, of course.

I second this. If you have the will, patience and free time to continuously keep your hack one step ahead of MS, we'll be forever grateful Dobbelina... Microsoft are literally as bad as Apple nowadays with their constant, obtrusive lock-downs on customisation. THEY MAKE ME RAGE. KILL KILL KILL!
