Trying to build the smallest possible windows 11 iso that just needs the ability to install and run any custom internet browser. So, just to use for browsing. However, even after deleting all the apps, packages, components, features listed on the toolkits "Bin\Lists" templates, the resulting ISO is still 3.09 GB and installed size is around 7.7 GB. Why is the size still so huge and what can be done to reduce the size?
What she said... About the actual question itself, why do you think that's huge for a barebone windows install? Do you want it to run on a 10GB HDD form 2001?
Yes, trying to run on a 2 GB RAM and 8 GB disk (but need as much free space as possible on the disk for other personal files, downloads etc.) But the requirements are minimal: just needs to be able to install/run the latest browser versions. Please help if you have any ideas. There has to be some way, there is such a minimal feature list it has to support: 1) Install/run Browser (and possibly light portable apps, text editors etc.) 2) Being able to plug in: keyboard, mouse, USB flash drive 3) Allows to install driver for: network, audio etc. That's mostly it! Everything else on the OS that are not necessary for those above 3 lists can be deleted. It is such a small list of requirements for the base OS. So, it feels it should be possible to reduce the installed size on disk is not it?

I just saw an article on tomshardware about tiny11, where the guy managed to squeeze it down to just under 7GB. There was allegedly still more stuff to be removed and also drive compression is also an option, but this is basically as far as it goes. After some searching, I did discover tiny 11 as well. And even better for my use case, a build called "windowsxlite ultralight divinity". The description stated: "Windows 11 22H2 Pro (Build 22621.1245) ISO SIZE: 1.60 GB CLEAN INSTALL SIZE: 2.97 GB". It exactly took 2.99 GB installed disk space in my case. So, it appears to be the best option found so far. But I will keep searching if can find anything better than this. At the end, we are looking for a bare-bone Windows OS with the ability to install and run the latest simple browser apps on top of it, so most of the extra features on top of the OS should be safe to delete for this specific use case. We could possibly go with windows XP or 7 for which installers way below 1 GB are available, but the problem is latest browsers don't support such old OS and for some work they require the latest stable versions of the browsers. If you find anything better, please keep updating and I will do the same. In addition, I would like to know how the windowsxlite ultralight could have achieved such a small installer and installed size. How can we get the OS to take less than 3 GB installed size using MSMG toolkit? Is it possible to get some ideas from the experts of this toolkit please?
Use MSMG toolkit to debloat Windows. Then use Winreducer to further lighten the Windows. Don't forget about the cleanup of the component store. You can also tweak a lot of settings here and add your custom registry files. One more way to further reduce the size is to manually delete files and folders from mounted wim. In this case you have to be extra careful and know exactly what you're doing. Which files are associated with the components you're removing. In some case you have to replace the original files with dummy dll's or some 3rd party softwares will start complaining that such and such dll is missing from your system. It takes lots of investigation and hard work for this step, if you don't know what you're doing, just skip this step.
If you just want to use an up-to-date browser. And that's the only thing you demand without much further explanation... You should try android x86. EDIT: The Prime OS Classic is 32-bit. Search for "primeOS-classic_0.6.1-20211206.iso". There are mainline and standard and currently the newest build is only for x64. Or maybe a Bliss OS. I used Prime OS for a long time.
