You really should start fresh, just to be sure that you don't carry over any weird bits from previous updates. That's always been the case with regard to applying updates to a non-clean source. If you encounter any issues with the resulting image, it will be assumed that something was wrong with the unclean source.
So now in MSMG7.9 after removing stuff do I have to do full rebuild or just cleanup, and go on with integrating DX & .NET, and then "Apply & Save"? OR do I always have to "Apply & Save Changes to Source Images"? Many thanks in advance!
Thanks. Just out of curiosity - why is it required to integrate only DirectX and dotNET after everything else is done?
If I don't want to integrate something should I cleanup first before aplying and saving and finally rebuilding?
For example, removing components after integration can break integrated stuff; also cleanup might not work (I'm too lazy to explain why it happens ) after you integrate .NET Framework and other stuff. It's not necessary, but it's good thing to do. Yes, it should be done before 'apply&save -> rebuild'.
I have a question. Lets say that I remove windows biometrics services using the toolkit provided , and i install the newly debloated system on a pc. If down the road I would like to use the fingerprint scanner in order to log in, how can i load the biometric service back ?
You don't need to. As long as you install the correct driver it appears to work correctly with Windows Hello.
It needs to export the removed packages from an ISO or live system (using i.e.: WinSxs extractor (on/offline) by KNARZ). then installing them via Trusted Installer elavated DISM (to elevate: M2-Team NSudo (New Version 4.0).
can anyone document the effects of certain removals. ive seen at times removing certain stuff can cause metro settings to popup exe error not found.
I thought it wasn't possible to remove Biometrics (in RS3) with MSMG ToolKit, according to what was said here.
so my first attempt ended up as a failed install tried removing almost everything msmg allows from a ltsb iso
Hello everyone! I'm pretty unfamiliar with MSMG program and also this is my very first-time usage of Windows 10 as a whole. I installed Enterprise for the first time as well. Want to know if MSMG still has any beneficial thing to do with LTSB 2016 version? I'd be grateful if anyone willing to help me about this issue and explain me bit about it. Thanks!
Guys a question: When I integrate a language pack into a windows image it doesn't show as selectable during intial setup. When I do the same with another tool like NTlite it works correctly. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Thanks
What happens if you integrate the language pack with NTlite and then use MSMG Toolkit to modify the image? I do something similar with DISM GUI to make my additions and then MSMG Toolkit to do removals, so far I have had 0 issues.
DISM GUI is only a GUI that can execute standard DISM commandlines. NTLite does that too but also can do things that bodge up the wim/live install beyond recovery.
