Well gotta try this again... I installed drivers that didn't install, removed components that didn't get removed once I was in windows... oops on my part somehow. It was almost like a fresh install from the Windows Media Creation tool lol.
Are you perhaps referring to this: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/msmg-toolkit.50572/page-495#post-1509596
WSUS typically needs Windows Server OS to run. For a person wanting to manage one or two computers it's overkill. There are other ways to manage updates, some of which are available here or on askwoody.com I have 10 PCs to manage, so it was a worthwhile endeavor. It's oretty easy to set up. Once you have your Windows server 2012 R2 or 2016 installed, you add the WSUS role and its required features, configure what products you want to service, then configure your PCs via group Policy to point to that server and the rest pretty much takes care of itself. You also have to configure the PCs GPO to never download anything from the Windows Update locations. Updates will arrive and sit in a "Not Approved" state. If you never approve them, then PCs will never install them.
Okay guys and gals, this is the first time that I am having a problem with the toolkit. I have followed the steps below, yet when I log into Windows, it's as if nothing I did during the steps actually applied to the install.wim. All the UWP apps are there, none of the features I removed are gone, and the added drivers and windows registry tweaks aren't there either. Here are the steps I took: 1. Extracted source image from ISO into DVD folder. 2. Selected 6 for Windows 10 pro 3. Integrated drivers from the \Toolkit\Toolkit_v9.4\Drivers\Install\w10\x64 and \Toolkit\Toolkit_v9.4\Drivers\WinPE\w10\x64 folders 4. Integrated DirectX9c from the \Toolkit_v9.4\Packs\DirectX9c folder 5. Cleaned up source image 6. Removed various Windows Components that I didn't want. 7. Removed all Windows Apps (screw you UWP) 8. Integrate registry settings via the Customize feature from the Toolkit_v9.4\Packs\CustomRegistry\w10\x64 folder and made other custom tweaks to the *.wim using the Tweaks section. Ex: Disable Cortana, disable Windows Defender, etc 9. Cleaned up source image 10. Integrated NetFX 3.5 11. Apply -> Save changes 12. Re-build 13. Created ISO 14. Used Rufus to create bootable flash drive. What am I doing wrong here? I used DISM++ to load my install.wim and verified that none of my drivers were installed, nor any of the features removed, and that yes, I was using Windows Pro x64 and not Home or any other edition. Any help would be appreciated!
Hello MSMG ; Although i have removed Microsoft Edge by using toolkit , "Settings and Microsoft Edge" stands still on startup screen File Explorer and Microsoft Edge are on task bar. (I dont want them there) Does anybody have a solution for this ?
Hey MSMG, many many thanks for the new version and your hard work I´m missing the RemovePkgsList.txt. Did I something wrong?
by skipping cumulative updates integration, can i remove things as we did in previous versions of windows? rs4 rs3 etc and can i integrate cumulative updates once windows is up and running? windows is really in a terribly sad state.
