Remove All Windows App, System Apps and Advanced Components then you will see a Windows Setup couldn't finish error dialog. Now you can remove IE and also able to choose the default browser.
No it's working fine, the WU will download and install the CU in 3-4 parts as the components are removed it checks and re-checks to see if needs any updated files and then prompts to restart.
If you want to perform image cleanup before applying the changes to the image then you must do it once before the removal too or else the cleanup will give error.
Tryout and see if you have any bugs, I have used a new function to fetch most of the mui data from image registry and it's working with en-us images.
Ok starting the process now After I get to Windows after the installation, do I have to run this command as soon as I am on the desktop like before Code: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase
I just removed that step to avoid user confusion, yes you can do it if you want but it will take a long time to process.
I'm curious about this new update (9.2) with the next build coming next month? We will have the option to remove more apps, (Windows 10 always let you uninstall some built-in apps like Solitaire, My Office, and Skype, but now it also lets you uninstall built-in apps like 3D Viewer, Groove Music, Mail, Paint 3D, and more.) and Speed Improvements (Thanks to Better Spectre Fixes). I just don't see messing with this with still so many problems removing stuff. Is it really worth downloading this or should we wait till the April update (1903) comes out?
Thank you, MSMG !!! But if i don't intergrate any CU, SSU or anything else. Should i do image cleanup before the components removal ? So i cleanup and reset base (6>1) after remove all components, do i need to run that "resetbase and cleanup" command in cmd after install windows ?
Took the image 17763.1 ru_ru. Deleted map control. As a result, sfc /scannow . Apparently not working multilanguage remove.
I tested my above method again to ensure I was doing nothing wrong, but I still got the same error message. I have tested just mounting the image and performing no other actions, before removing all components and I still get the error once it reaches the stage of removing Wallet Service App Package. Code: Remove all metro apps (4 > 1 > 1 > 8) I still have not tested with x64 yet.
Further testing with x86 image has produced more errors. I have tested by removing what I do not normally remove, so that the information can help MSMG.
