I was able to track down the issue and fix it. Its a bit hilarious. I was installing the OS using VirtualBox, and to get optimal experience, I was installing VirtualBox Guest Additions ISO. This was causing the issue. Uninstalling Guest Additions fixed it.

cant remember what i did on that BC5 now - i know it was something. Ah well, i must of fixed whatever it was, as i not wrote anything down. I just see the date code updated to the 20th after midnight lol
