It says the possible windows version because he has 2.1 which can activate vista or win7. The reason win8.x and win10 are listed as well is because slic isnt needed for win8.x or win10 thus you can install and activate those as well using either oemm key or retail key or even like with win10 the standard generic key that is assigned through hardware id's from upgrade process.
I will have look into this more this evening when I have more time. Its the bios id that is messing everything up (bios id=BIOS). I need more info in order to troubleshoot this issue. Did you edit the bios id to say BIOS? Is this a custom build or modded bios? Something is not right here. I have never seen a bios id say BIOS. This is the problem.
No BS, this afternoon: Yen had to disable thanks system because of an error, he will look into it later!!! See chat archives for details!!! Now, he reports in the chat it's repaired!!
Here is my results with included fix to correct your conflict... This corrects ASUS and DELL displaying "BIOS" for bios id. Plus any others that might display "BIOS" as well. One fix for all.
First post updated to version date 5-22-2016. Here is the update ppl with mismatched modded bios have been waiting for. See change log for details. Update: I forgot to change query tool display for modded bios. It has been updated to build 7 to address that issue. Sorry about that.
I wanted to publicly thank Tito for always hiding the first post download link. Most dont know this but every time there is an update to the first post, Tito must hide the link for me. Big thanks goes out to Tito for putting up with me. lol
Thank you so much! You have made my life so much easier! Tho i found a weird problem... After 30 days when "activated" it becomes deactivated. Is there something i am doing wrong?
That's 30 days grace period, then it asks you to activate which you have never been. Some info or even better log file would be useful.
@ Urie, If ppl dont provide detailed info like the log file from project and result.txt file from query tool then I would not even bother commenting. No detailed info = No support First post updated to address WinTel.cmd host entries. See change log for details.
it doesn't seem the activate dell optiplex 5040 or hp 800 g2 (the tiny ones 35w or 65w) (2016 PCs) I've used this tool for tens of PCs to date, thanks a lot
How about providing the project log file located at the root of your c: drive and also run the query tool to share results.txt file?
*I can't read one by one of all posts, so I don't know whether anyone questioned this. What? So take example, Dell older bios/laptop without msdm table would not be able to use this method at all isn't it? Can the bios firmware be moded to insert msdm?
I have got a HP EliteBook 1030 G1. The BIOS has the Win10 MSDM table, and using the OEM porject, I am able to activate Win10 fine. But, the theme does not apply, even I forced the theme by using "Force_Theme_[readme]" method. What kind of info. do you need to help me solve this issue? TIA
