It will only oem activate using shared oem slp key if lets say for windows 7 you would need slic 2.1 in bios and if found and oem matched info from queries then it activates...if not it doesn't activate. There is no difference in this new code and the old code from searchengine in regards to activation of windows vista or 7. There is modification for query conflicts but that is only one line. Most changes occurred in the theming and win 8.x. Some oem's have same keys but different manufactures. If windows 8.x then it queries your oem-dm key in bios (msdm table) and uses that to oem activate. If no oem-dm key is present in bios then it skips activation. If it activates incorrectly then run the query tool v6.3 and share the results.txt file so I can determine what the problem is. You haven't provided enough information for me to come up with a solution, if one is really needed. Users cant enter a slic so I don't know what you mean by that. Think you are confused on what is in bios. Also, your answers are in this thread regarding the protected files, read.
Not sure what all the fuss is about. The Install.7z that everyone is afraid of consists of 2 exe's, 1 .ini and 1 batch file.. All it does it check your SLIC/OEM-DM and insert a key if it finds the string needed in the bios. That is all. The 2 exe's are NOT harmful.... Everything is perfectly safe and after looking at the code, it is well optimized and well written.. If he wants it protected, so be it and with good reason.. Lots of code thieves.. It's your choice to use it or not. I use it and it works great on ALL my machines with OEM Bios or modified bios. And NO, I will not provide my methods to see in the file. Don't even ask. It's not mine to do so and I respect the author and thank him for the work he has put in this project. I did it for my own knowledge and curiosity..
If anyone afraid to use this project then don't download it, it will harm your system lol If you want to learn from the code you can download old project versions and learn from it or you can make yours if you want But the project author have the right to protect he's code as he want he let you add your oem's or force the theme you want, the project will brand and will activate what you need more?!! Old project only had like 40 oem's but now it have 123 and works better than the old one, so making the source open or not it's the author choice and you can do what you want with the project if the source open or not so for me i will choose to close it if you can add your oem's or force the theme you want and also you can add loader or Kms if you want After all that if you ask about the source then that's why the author closed it
I'm glad your Vista OS gets its background now searchengine "is" the creator..period I didn't ask anything of the OP..
wouldn't it have been easier to admit you didn't know what you were talking about instead of editing the hell out of all your posts?
Everyone is talking about searchengines old project but his was NOT open source but everyone used it. Funny. lol
The new project was not protected because of end users but other reasons which I don't have to explain. @Baltagy and Mr.X, We don't have to answer those questions because there are no problems thus no tech support is needed. Its just an ongoing worthless conversation which we should not respond to. Back on the main subject...I have gotten a few more keys for included oems (win7) but now need to check vista keys for any I need to add.
Funnily enough when I observe people's behavior, I do feel surprised, shocked indeed. This project and anything found here is so damn free I could ask those complainants: have you paid for it? In kind, money or anything else? Are you entitled to demand? Answer is no. So stop posting those demanding petitions please.
Searchengines sync tool (NOT open source) had issues thus why I had to find other solutions plus it failed in some machines I have used it on thus the reasoning behind new code and query tool. Its all been explained in this thread but some refuse to read. Like the ol saying goes... "You can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink." In this case, read. lol
Then don't use it...quit complaining and move on...we have. Dude, searchengine is gone and didn't give a freak about you or anyone else so get over it. Quit the crying. lol Actually you are wrong about the sync tool, it was edited with autoit...I have the source so I know (little too late but I do have it). All of this has been discussed already if you would just READ. Hello skolar, waiting to talk to you...
trust me bro..no crying here..but if somebody is going to post in defense of something..they should have their facts straight..to you , I could give a rats ass what you do to searchengines project... lock it up and toss the key..that was never an issue to me
ok, then end of discussion....simple. Its not searchengines project...he abandoned it and us. @ skolar, Still waiting for a pm from you.
