I am going to let the cat out of the bag because I want some answers plus others here deserve answers. skolar is suppose to be searchengine. If this is so which I do have my doubts, why did he abandon the project in the first place and leaving everyone here hanging and refused to share his source which was closed? Why is "he" now coming back just to bash what I did? I had no choice in the matter. When I did get his source it was already changed so no need in changing script again so I left it with my new code to replace it. This also makes it not searchengines but mine as well. The searchengine I know and have always gotten along with was not as rude and he didn't make trouble on other threads. skolar if this is searchengine you can easily confirm my opinion with one answer. PM me and we can discuss this like men, not children like is what is going on now. If this is you then you have some explaining to do, not only to me but members and staff here as well. You made such a big todo over you waiting your acct deleted and now you come back hateful for no reason. You can always create you own again so why all the bs? Be a man and stand on your two feet! Are you mad at me for picking the project up when no one else would? That seems s**tty to me. That would give the impression you were wanting to freak everyone over when you left. This isn't the searchengine I know and have had many conversations with. Childish. I'm waiting for your pm... Sorry to admins and mods but we all deserve answers and I don't believe in beating around the bush but instead being direct. edited post to add this: still waiting skolar... You wanted everyone's attention, you got it. You have the floor now and we are still waiting... Come out and play, I know you are there.
Attention MDL members, I have given every opportunity for searchengine, who is known as skolar now, to come out and explain his anger because of this project continuing and he refuses to answer. This in itself tells us enough to knock the dust from our boots and move on. I have never intended to offend him but I guess I have without knowing it. It really doesn't matter now and we here as members must learn to move forward and leave the past in the past. I am doing this and I hope members and staff here can learn to do the same. This conversation is old news and we must press on towards the future.
After all this controversy, I am going to do away with everything searchengine scripted and now will all be original with of course my own modifications which are used now. Lets leave the past in the past and bury it, for good. To be honest there isn't much of his original work left in it except for the activation part for vista/win7. The query tool I have wrote almost from scratch because the source wasn't shared till I was almost done with it. I am going to remove the rest of the code that was searchengines plus make the script faster, smaller, etc. I am getting rid of the ini file also. Now it will all be internal and protected thus changing the need to protect anything else. There will be no use really for 7zip anymore either for the project is small enough, at least for me without using compression. This will be closed source but will share with some here like I already have so if something happens then the project can still continue. I am thinking of members here unlike the previous author. Just so everyone knows the reason for protecting the info in the ini file is because they are shared oem keys and certs used by different manufactures thus M$ or them don't like that....it isn't because I am hiding anything from end users. If you break something, you break it but its not on me to support it. I have tried to explain this to members here and it just doesn't get through. lol
I´ve included the OEM folder + ei.cfg file into the actual Win 8.1 Core/Pro Multilanguage MSDN Iso from Microsoft (de_windows_8.1_with_update_x64_dvd_6051485.iso). During the installation Windows wants to install .NET Framework 3.5. That never happens with any project file from here before. While i had no internet connection during install .NET installation failed and the MSDM Key was not extracted from Bios. (Acer Laptop with shipped Win 8.1) After the installation i started the OEM Query Tool from the project (6.3 Build 5) and Windows 8.1 again is asking for installation of .NET 3.5. There is something wrong with the actual project 17.02.2015...
Ok, that's the reason why the actual project is not working with win 8.1 iso. But Win 8.1 want´s to install .NET 3.5. not .NET 4.0 Is msdm-slic.exe not working with .NET 4.0? (is .NET 4.0 included into win8.1 iso???) PS: Project file from 12.02.2015 working flawless.
Looks like I mixed the .net 3.5 version with 4.0. 4.0 will work with win 8.x....my fault. Will be corrected in next version. Thanks to both of you. I am working on the new project now since I couldn't sleep. lol
How is 40.9 megs total on disk for size of the uncompressed $oem$ folder? I really don't want to use 7zip anymore. Now the OEM's folder is uncompressed with only two files....one being the oobe.cmd and the other is a exe. Total of only 1 folder and two files. I like this better. Still testing...
When I am finished with editing everything for new version I will send it to Mr.X and Baltagy for testing before making public. It will be a while though guy's since I am busy with real life also. I would rather take my time and get everything right the first time as well.
Its going to take longer then I expected for new method to be implemented. I went ahead and updated the project to address the win 8.x oem-dm key dump and activation and also included two win 7 keys. I didn't want to make some wait for a long time in order to do their installs so I went ahead and released this version. I also updated credits to show... This should clear things up as far as what is my code modifications and what is his and credit given accordingly. Right now I see no other way of changing the activation for Vista/Win7 so will keep it the same. Regardless I have to use slmgr.vbs to activate and this is no big secret so it should be safe to continue using it. To be honest I don't care if searchengine is pissed off or not...he had his chance to express his feelings.
I wont be online till the evening tomorrow because I have to replace my motor mounts and transmission mount in my car. Who ever heard of oem motor mounts being made of gel filled? Worthless! lol See everyone tomorrow evening.
Ok, motor and tranny mounts done. Drives like a cady. lol I know, I got off the subject of the thread, sorry.
