So I did not upgrade since May 2014 checked and 42 updates most security for the lame. downloaded the 2 msu and now 9600.17238.amd64fre.winblue_gdr.140723-2018 Is this correct? still 39 updates ............... hmmm sounds like a lot of work and time for nothing. Regards
I believe MDL mods had fun times watching Thurrott MJF whining on "MS framed them" in Update2, they probably don't want to have a new so-called Threshold/win9 thread ending up in Oct. with the same scenario. My (personal) guess is this thread would stay until next Spring, when MS would release a real win9 preview(nothing to do with Threshold), then MDL would probably start a new win9 forum, hopefully also for win365.
A lot of fantasy for win 9 but I/we focus on free to use by means of xxx. Since i'v decided to abandon win 8, i don't often go to this forum section.

I would recommend it, yes. When MS says to uninstall it, it's a good idea to uninstall it. edit: the reasoning is that future updates might have a problem if it's installed.
Also this updates is no longer offered separately: Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2980654) (probably put to Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2962409) now)
I think MS deserves all these embarrassment, they were so obsessed with keeping everything secret and no leaks, they didn't even send the Aug update to OEM's for testing. What's the big deal in the Aug update anyway?
I just dont expect fairness to MJF from FaiKee anymore, he has hatred of her for personal enmity, he will use any oppourtunity to attack her, its just facts of life.
