I appreciate that but that would incur extra cost and it is not a viable solution on this laptop. Is there anyway to make it ignore the GPT boot partition(s) and the partition containing linux? Maybe it already would ignore any partitions where Windows 8.1 was not already installed? That is, say using the installation media I used diskpart to convert the disk to GPT and then created a 200 GB partition before installing Windows on it, maybe this software would not affect any extra partition that is later created by the Ubuntu installation media, in which case the only problem would be making it ignore the boot partition, which was edited by Ubuntu installer allowing dual boot?
Guideline required I got it, Now i am able to solve this issue Will test fully. ----------------------------- Hi, I tried to create the media with Win8.1 Enterprise x64 with 3.0.0A2, Started with coping boot, efi, bootmgr & bootmgr.efi from Win 8.1 MSDN disk to "Windows 8 Recovery Tools" folder in the software provided. I copied boot to Windows 8 Recovery Tools folder and rest to boot folder. copied OSCDIMG.exe to OscdImg folder. and unticked read only check box. while trying Update_Settings i am getting error as "Error-Missing DVD boot files" Kindly guide me or help me how to create it. As i understood from the guideline document. 1st we need to prepare the installer folder 2nd we need to prepare the USB where only unattended.xml and installer folder 3rd install win 8.1 4th in audit mode install apps and drivers 5th copy installer folder from pendrive to hdd and use install.cmd Kindly guide me where i am going wrong.
What I'm saying is that by default the Unattend file will remove any existing partitions and create new ones in the Recovery format during install so your best bet is to install Ubuntu after Windows (you'll have to do both in EFI mode in order to support the required number of partitions). However, if you use the Windows recovery then it is likely to again set up the partitions like they were originally (i.e. wiping out the Ubuntu partitions). I say likely because this isn't something I've tested - just theory based upon snippets of the code I've actually looked at. If you delve into the code further there is probably a way around this.
Restore wtihout creating account (pre configured account) Brilliant, works great, Just wondering where I can change a setting to automatically log in to pre-configured account instead of creating new account at the restore process? J
This is a great tool! The ASUS X202E, I tried to clean install windows8.1update by the Japanese of the settings.ini this tool. I have a perfect behavior, except that it was necessary to add a ei.cfg to the original installation disks. Thank you!
The instruction say that this tool isn't a backup tool also it should only be used during (or soon after) Windows installation otherwise it won't work. I'm not clear here so if I fresh install Windows, all (damn) hardware drivers, plus some essential software like for example Office, Photoshop etc. etc. will the software still be able to create an 1-1 image in the hidden partition? Edit: I read the manual and it says that I can create the image either only Windows or Windows with drivers and software. Could anyone please add feedback because I never used this software before.
hello i tested OneKey on a dell optiplex 740 and a compaq hp in 32 and 64 bit and the recovery works very well with all the updates and installaer program and take nearly 20 gb for 32 bit and 23 gb for 64 bit i deleted all temp file for saving space and all the restore
Glad it works BUT 23GB on the x64 seems a lot, how is it possible only Windows and updates? Maybe there are updates duplicate entries that you don't need anymore?
