I love and have managed to make old hardware run on which it was not ever intended to do, just as 771 CPU on 775 mobo, s478 NorthWood and Prescott CPU on P35/X48 mobo, Conroe CPU on 925X/955X mobo, and now old P4 on Win10
Would be any guide to make Win10 start on 478? Or can You share patched files for specified Win versions with us?
forget about that - newer Win10 releases may not even boot up with an Atom Z2760 - and video driver for the z2760 may not work well on newer win10 versions (aka. laggy or stuttery video) anyway, MS will still provide updates for w10 v1607 on Intel Atom Clover trail CPUs like z2760 until Jan. 2023
well I installed 32bit Win10 v2004 build 19041.208 (and updated to 19041.264) on an old Dell laptop with Yonah Core Duo T2700 cpu and it's relatively fast (the opposite of slow) - also has 4Gb of RAM but 3.25Gb is usable to the Win10 OS and a 250Gb western digital HDD maybe you should replace that Yonah celeron cpu with a dual-core Yonah variety
The only problem is that this processor only works with 32-bit Windows, but you might want to try replacing it with a 64-bit processor. There are several that fit. And if the used processor fits, you can get it quite cheaply. But if You want not used (ie new) - they are quite expensive.
You may install Intel Core Duo T2450 (2 GHz, 2 M cache), Intel Core Duo T2350 (1.86 GHz, 2 Mb cache) or Intel Core Duo T2250 (1.73 GHz, 2 Mb cache). All of them are using 533 MHz FSB. T2450s are from 5 to 11 bucks on ebay right now, free shipping.
Without pached files or some P4-ready Windows 10 distro all of this is just a bla-bla-bla. Anyone can make such screenshots using a Photoshop, resource & registry editors, or even a dialog editor programs such as e.g. MT Resizer.
You may have not seen my VCR, and CPU-Z validation, that's my evidence as rock. I didn't show the way to mod Win10 kernel by now, because I'm worry about committing some kinds of software copyright bad things at the beginning, but now I have started a new thread in another webpage in Chinese language, you can find more info. about this topic.
wytiwx A very interesting topic )) , I myself suffered the same recently, cpushack[dot]com/2019/10/01/the-story-of-the-ibm-pentium-4-64-bit-cpu but if the 32-bit version W10 can be launched, the most interesting is the launch of the 64-bit version, but so far it has not worked out for me, although I already found the Biostar G31-M4 motherboard.
