A help please. If I edit the script for removing some apps (xbox, people, phone etc...) and not all of them (bing, photo), it does not remove nothing. Does anybody know why?
Can this be adopted for ALL users(Admin & Standard)? Ran it in admin acct and everything worked.... ran it in standard acct w/ admin privileges and it had NO effect... ex. Cortana/Bing search, "This PC" rather than "Quick Access" when opening explorer, etc....
Soon after i ran this tool: Disabled Activation,Uninstalled my Soundcard Drivers,Eliminated Multi Booting,Made Win10 unstabled,i had to re-install the OS ......
According to what I was told at a conference, you should not disable Windows Defender even if you are using another AV/AM product. The reason? If malware disables your AV/AM product, as long as Defender isn't disabled it will start itself up to continue to protect your computer. With a disabled Defender it can't do this. In addition, until your AV/AM product kicks in as W10 loads, Defender is actually running and protecting your computer. If it is disabled, it can't protect your system until your AV/AM product has started.
Scareware by AV companies? I remember slogans like: If you connect to the internet without a firewall or AV, you will be infected within seconds.
There's life in the old dog yet. Updated to v6.0 Overhaul, which means that the whole script is completely reworked. As always, I appreciate any kind of feedback.
I haven't used a realtime AV for years, but I rely on some Chrome extensions to keep me safe from the porn sites I visit... And of course, good old common sense
Just be careful visiting those sites with no AV, Defender is AV, look on Front page on it, be careful or you might end up like Bat.1, he used to be a happy go lucky surfer, now he's addicted to cam girls but what is really bad is what you have to do for tokens, lol, jk
Honestly, if you ran that today you probably wouldn't catch anything. Just like real viruses, they wouln't recognize something ancient like that, hence you wouldn't be infected Best virus scanner ever made
Theoretically yes. You have the option to disable Windows Update. On the downside you have to recover Windows Update everytime you want to update. I'm currently not aware of any other solution for Version 1607. :/
As above by uniQ168... Code: services.msc > Windows Update Service > Disable Run WUMT, it will prompt you to start Win update Service, check for updates, hide any you don't want, install those you do want. Disable Win Update Service again. The Windows Updates Troubleshooter also allows you to hide any updates you don't want, can't find the link atm. Edit: Hide Windows Updates (wushowhide.diagcab) - abbodi post.
