Help! I haven't run the September update yet. I was going to do it today when my Windows 7 Ultimate announced it had downloaded a pile of updates and these would be installed on shutdown.
This is concerning since I made darn sure I had Windows Updates set to off. Whatever. Something may have changed the setting - I cannot think what, not by human intervention.

I have reset Windows update to NEVER once more. But am I stuck with these downloaded updates? I am hoping to ALT + F4 and shutdown without installing them.
I've never seen Windows 7 reset my choice to not download updates before and am a loss to know how to proceed.

Yesterday I set a restore point, do you think it is possible I can restore this and bypass the updates?

In the instructions for AIO you mention the command for Enterprise only: place MSDN Enterprise ISO in the appropriate folder.

If I place this particular ISO:

will the operation succeed?

Happens every time when updating the .wim offline, something packed wrong with that one, he'll need to go back to the drawing broad again! All other updates install fine

I was installing this update pack on a fresh win7 on a new ssd. it was 162 updates and after first 80 installed and sencond 80 was installing, f**k my s**thole country my power wentout and I don't have a UPS.
So after that I ran the pack and apparantly it installed the "rest" of the updates and kept looping install on a last update infinitley (was KB....058 or something). so I stopped doing that, the system operates normally apart from the weird bug of 'turn on/off windows features' box is now empty. I wished to disable a few, the dialog box is empty. I tried the disk error scanning, sfc scan and few tricks from googling but the box is still empty. is this related to the f**ked up updating? should I reinstall windows?
I am trying to keep the ssd writes down so, should I stick with it or reinstall? maybe simplix update temporary files are still there and looping that update? how do i manualy delete any simplix pack temporary files? where does it extract?

and yeah I know. way to start a ssd's life!

 

Why don't you just simplix the iso itself and perform a fresh install with that?
Also, don't be so paranoid about write cycles, there's no need for that.

1. Using the batch files to integrate the simplix pack, there were more than 4 .bat files than he mentions in the readme. With 'usb' or something in the names. what are those for?
I tried the intergrate option with mount folder as temp folder, yet it didn't use it, and C: drive usage went up, I tried this whole thing in my external so it still used deafult windows temp folder I guess which is a slow ass 5400rpm drive. I mean WTF??! why didn't it use the mount folder as it said in the readme??
If you make a tool, make it with proper instructions.
Anyone can point me at a simple proper way to intergrate this damn updates for once and all??

2. What the fuss about patching usb 3 drivers into the iso? My motherboard website do have usb 3 drivers but I usually install them after windows installation which I do fine with a usb 3 flashdrive through a usb 3 port. it just works.
What am I missing? should I intergrate usb 3 drivers before installing windows?

 

1. Please, @shhnedo provided all the switch info and i put it at the OP.
The batches are so simple to use, hardly anybody asked questions about them before
2. Try booting USB3 port only systems on which even the USB2 ports behave like usb3 (can't think of the correct info now, something xhci.
3. Maybe use the SiMPLiX tool i made?
