Yes, .net 4.8 was installed with simplix via the relevant .wa file.

The problem with it is that it delayed my whole workflow. I wanted powershell 3+ to run that ps1 script I have, so I installed a bunch of useless stuff (the kb update and powershell 7), when I could have installed windows management framework ONLY and use its powershell 5.x. A couple of reboots for no reason etc.

Simplix Pack only include updates offered/available via Windows Update (SP2 KB3125574 is a special one)

Windows Management Framework is never offered via WU

    P.S.
    KB3191566 is WMF 5.1
    WMF 3 KB2506143 = Powershell 3
    WMF 4 KB2819745 = Powershell 4

Do you know if KB5004755 the 2021-08 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 4.8 for Windows 7 will be included in a future update?
    Thanks.

@ryegrass Simplix does not include updates for .NET 4.x as it's not a native windows 7 component. Only updates for .NET 3.5.
.NET 4.8 updates are part of abbodi's .wa addons as stated above.

Hello, after fresh installation of Win7 (I chose original win7 iso without updates), I installed simplix with all its addons but I have a issue. I can't install some programs requiring net framework and that's not all, I sometimes receive random visual runtimes error when exploring in Windows 7, can you guys help me please? simplix installed all updates and net framework/visual runtimes so I don't get why this happens, I was able to install other programs requiring net framework so this is unusual.

You can try Microsoft Visual C++ by @abbodi1406 and reinstall .Net 3.5 and 4.8

I did it but it didn't fix the issue. Btw, afaik there's no way to reinstall or uninstall net 3.5 because it's core part of Win7. I found no tutorial in internet that tells you how to unintall or repair net 3.5 in Win7.

I now also receive visual runtime errors in Windows Media Player h t t p s://imgur.com/iQH9aaJ

I tried running Net Framework Repair Tool but even that failed because of "application was unable to start correctly" error h t t p s://imgur.com/a/IzSzHfd

The tool at least shared logs so I'm gonna post that here:

Is this in any way related to simplix updatepacks?

I chose iso delivered from this thread and after that I installed simplix + all addons so yeah I'm sure it's related to simplix.

    BypassESU also doesn't work.

Looks more like something else is causing your errors.

    Greetings,

    I am trying UpdatePack 7 21.10.13 on a Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64. my PC is an ASRock J4125-ITX

after the first reboot, the system runs with a black background screen & UpdatePack 7 displays the following:

    Code:
    Installing updates (4)

    Installing KB3125574-v4 (update 1 from 1)
KB3125574-v4 - Installation of update has been successfully completed

at some point the PC gets rebooted without any prompt and this cycle goes over & over until I press the cancel.

Installing directly the KB3125574-v4 windows6.1-kb3125574-v4-x64_2dafb1d203c8964239af3048b5dd4b1264cd93b9 I get the following:

    Code:
Update for Windows (KB3125574) is already installed on this computer.
    I have run:
    Code:
    sfc /scannow
    with no errors

I have also run Tweaking.com Windows Repair in safe mode prior to the above error.

    any hints ?

Edit: looking at the Installed Updates, UpdatePack 7, prior to the above error, managed to install two updates:
    Code:
    KB4532941
    KB4503575
running Windows Updates manually, does work and reports 2 critical updates, one of them:
    Code:
System Update Readiness Tool for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB947821) [October 2014] Download size: 264.8 MB
but I haven't try to check if they can be installed successfully. I prefer using the UpdatePack 7

Edit II: I remember reading somewhere that UpdatePack 7 requires this update, so I will install it, try again & followup

Edit III: issue remains even after KB947821. Windows Updates offers no more critical updates while UpdatePack 7 has the same behavior mentioned at the top of this post
