So is this correctly understood from what I've read in the 1st post: If I don't want to use BypassESU and is fine with a monthly manual installation of Windows 7 updates this is the pack to use? I'm not sure what is meant by "integrate the updates in the distribution" - is that in case Windows 7 should be re-installed or will that be needed?
Took me 3 days but now I've got Win7 installed and booting on a Gigabyte B650 Gaming X with a Ryzen 7600 and a RX 6800 XT Thanks guys!
Big thanks to enthousiast, abboid and everybody! Bought a supermicro motherboard because I thought it would be cool to have 256 gb of ram for a gaming pc. Next thing I know the old board doesn't support windows 10, which is weird because the processor (Xeon e5 2643 v2) came out only 2 years before Windows 10.
Hello I have a quick question. I have been using simplix every time I need to do a clean install & have just been wondering. It's safe to ignore every update in windows update? I just did a clean install of windows 7 again just grabbed the driver updates & then switched the setting to never check for updates. Also used the latest version of simplix. So wondering if that's fine or do I need the other updates offered/available? One last question if simplix has an update I just redownload the simplix update pack again & it will then install the new update? (though I am guessing that's what it does since it searches for updates when you run it)
June 13th is the next "patch Tuesday". Simplix UpdatePack7R2 for June 2023 should be released within a few days after that. The new update pack should be about 815 MB in size. After you download and save it, close all open windows first, then run it. It should do a quick scan of your computer first, then it should install the new updates. Restart your computer afterwards. If Windows Update alerts you afterwards to important/recommended/optional updates waiting to be installed, they will likely be outdated ones. You can click on and highlight each one and see what its release date is. If it is outdated, right-click and hide it.
Ok thank you for the clarification just wanted to make sure I was using simplix & windows update right.

By the way, I don’t understand why this information is needed, given that UpdatePack7R2 is signed with a code signing certificate. In addition, in case of any damage, the program simply will not start, but will report that there is damage.
Because it's an easy check that what you downloaded is original and undamaged - depends what bytes get corrupted anywhere in the file and whether it runs or not. Also signing means little if people run it to make an off-line master ISO. I'd rather have crc checks than anything else.
But this is not the case, additional utilities are needed to verify checksums, but the program signature can be verified on any Windows system, even without running the program itself. Even for integration into an ISO image, you need a Windows system where you can already verify the signature. In other words, the signature replaces all checksums taken together, because it guarantees the integrity of the program and is easily checked in the file properties. In addition, if the program turns out to be malicious, the certificate will be revoked and Windows itself will block the launch of such a program, which checksums cannot do. This is not to mention the fact that the file can be replaced and other checksums written, and the signature excludes this option.
