The last article I read, the end of the line is January 2026, but I doubt that date is written in stone.
In time, we will find out.

I tried to integrate the Simplix pack with the Windows 7 install.wim image and it says it can't unmount the image.

    What is going on here?

I did both, but it craps out when unmounting again.

This time, it's "Error code 5 (Recovery)."

Just curious: do people still use Windows 7 as their daily driver?

EDIT: I'm not going to turn this into a long, drawn-out conversation, so a yes or a no would suffice.

EDIT: Don't worry, I tried doing it in another computer and it works.

    Thanks!

@RobertX you might have a bad storage drive. Test the thing.

What exact tool did you run? the drop ISO on update package method or any other tool?

If you're referring to the Simplix update tool, I ran the update pack that downloads the latest update in to another file in which the Windows 7 computer would use to update itself, not the one with the multiple scripts.

So you actually did not update the install.wim file but ran the pack on an online installation?

I did update the install.wim file, that's what the Simplix pack did with the parameters

    Code:
    UpdatePack7R2-24.6.12 /WimFile=C:\Download\install.wim /Index=*

Can't remember when somebody even used that manual command, @simplix made the "drop ISO on updatepack to create an updated ISO" and boss911 (russian) and i (english) made tools which do the job much better and easier, my tool does it even in much less time.
