Noob question, yes, i did search if someone already asked, if i install win 7 ult SP1 activate with daz loader, can i use this tool to install updates esu etc without issues? Also, can download the simplix updates before installing win 7, if i am on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS?I just dont want to sit there and wait with a fresh win 7 install,or there might even be issues with internet connectivity, basically i want offline simplix,if possible.
Yes. You can download the updatepack but only use it on a windows host. Best is to create an uptodate Win 7 ISO, using the pack. - You can drag and drop an untouched win 7 SP1 ISO on the updatepack (windows host only) or - You can use MDL Win 7 Tool for SiMPLiX UpdatePack AiO ISO (with install.wim/esd) Creation to create an uptodate Win 7 ISO (windows 10 or up host).
I never use a clean untouched MSDN ISO, i always create an uptodate ISO to start with, never any problems. When i have time i will try again with a clean MSDN ISO.
Ha, coming back to it later on, I am happy to report it worked! 800+MB... Installing as we speak on an old Acer Aspire 5935G laptop (various flavours of Linux not good enough, sadly - old story with the drivers, like built-in speakers not working etc.). But even under Windows, Nvidia and Intel drivers driving me mad (many things not working, not possible to install, due to missing files, libraries, "can't find an entry point in DLLs etc.) - it's a mess... Thanx again!!!
Been toying with this tool for a while now, and so far I've been having a blast! One small question though: to apply updates for a 32-bit version of windows 7 that will install on non-SSE2 systems, I had to dredge out version 17.12.15 (I couldn't find version 18.4.30 - anyone knows where I can snag it?), as the latest version only does updates for SSE2+ systems, and versions 18.4.30 and before can't slipstream the .NET/VC++/DirectX WA packs. I know it's a strange request, but I do wonder if the Simplix team is amenable to including the last non-SSE2 compatible updates without someone having to hunt those archaic versions down. If not, eh, I can still live with what I have, it'd just be a nice thing to have.
I have same query here for an Athon XP, latest updates fome M$ had broken seven. Actually this machine have Xp.
Non-SSE2 CPUs are 32bit-only, anyway. Just keep the old pack you have, probably nothing will be changed for the 32bit department anymore, as it's EOL. Btw. it was the same saga with XP on non-SSE machines. Just stopped working, eventually.
OK. Thanks for the quick reply. I own licenses for several, and use it as a daily driver. It's features are about the same as Pro edition, and does not require activation.
Although i am the maintainer of this win 7 updatepack and the mdl simplix aio iso creation tool thread, i can't use win 7 for anything i do anymore, it hardly can service itself. Ever since the invention of DAZ Loader and KMS_VL_ALL all installs can be freely activated anyway.
