guys, i got latest simplix (oct 2025) installed without error with these switches: /silent /fix /sfc. previous few versions, i always encountered catalog error and it reverted. i noticed error from microsoft windows securityu auditing with the possible corruption of "user32.dll". Question: can i run sfc /scannow to fix it? p/s: i did run sfc /verifyonly and there were errors. thanks.
Small disclaimer about this: 32-bit machines with >3GiB RAM are capped to whatever the memory controller can address. PatchPAE won't help you reclaim the memory reserved for PCI devices. The only place you can fully address 4GiB of memory is in 64-bit platforms, like the Athlon 64 and Prescott-2M Pentium 4 at minimum. And if you enable the relevant setting to be able to address the full 4GiB without PCI device addressing eating some of it, you're better off using a 64-bit OS anyway. PAE patching is only worthwhile for Windows 2000 and Windows XP 32-bit, and even then it's risky (I had a few drivers like UniATA on Windows 2000 and Nvidia graphics drivers on Windows 7 crap themselves the moment PAE was unlocked). Though I do know of one program that lets you reclaim hidden RAM without enabling/unlocking PAE: Primo RamDisk. Paid, sure, but I had a great experience with it.
I have tried all three download sources listed on the first page of this thread. Two get stalled at roughly the halfway mark and the third doesn't even start. Is there anywhere else I can get the latest Update?
To everyone whom it may concern: The only supported SiMPLiX pack is the latest one (provided it isn't a beta which happened a few times before). You have every right to do anything to your own machine - using old SiMPLiX packs, using PAE patches etc. But, please refrain from posting about these experiences in this topic here (or, worse, asking for support). We want to keep it clean for actual support. Failure to do so will be followed by mass-cleanup of posts, as has been done in the past. You can always open a topic in Chit Chat instead, if you want to.
Hi everyone I met a problem with the latest version 25.10.15 of UpdatePack7R2 I use 25.10.15 to renew an original windows 7 Ultimate iso image with DirectX Visual C++ and .NetFramework 480 Addons. Then made some optimizations to the image and with Autounattend.xml in iso file. When i run iso image on a VMWARE virtual machine ,after the first reboot ,windows boot fail and prompt boot fail menu let me select safe mode or last known good configuration . If i select safe mode ,virtual machine will reboot immediately after load disk.sys ,i don't think the boot fail issue caused by this file because many people say disk.sys is the last driver file which safe mode last loaded ,seems no problem . First ,i doubt my Autounattend.xml file and these optimization turning caused windows boot fail ,so i used the untouched iso file produced by UpdatePack7R2-25.10.15 to test, same issue appeared . I don't known what happened to the newer UpdatePack7R2 especially the latest version 25.10.15 I haven't do a test on a real machine ,and i think if it produced iso can not run good on a virtual machine ,it is a problem ,because the last i used version 24.12.12 was not have this issue. Here is my test environment : Host OS: Windos 7 Ultimate Produced by 24.12.12 VMware : Version 14.1.3 Virtual Machine :Windows 7 x64 Created by VMware with all default settings (Legacy MBR SATA or SCSI +1CPU (6cores)+8G RAM) So i just want to ask ,is there anybody have the same issue as what i got ? Any suggestions? Thank you all
Update : I used version UpdatePack7R2-25.9.10 make a new x64 iso again, same issue happened, after the first reboot ,windows boot fail and prompt boot fail menu. Seems 25.9.10 also has this issue, make me doubting my environment now
So you are trying to service the ISO under a Windows 7 OS? Unfortunately, even with ADK, Windows 7 can not properly service anything, anymore. I'm servicing Windows 7 ISOs entirely from Windows 10 and everything works.
OK, i will try to make a new iso in Windows 10 environment and have a test again tomorrow . How do you create the ISO? By what method, the drop ISO on the updatepack (native simplix) or do you use a tool like the MDL AiO ISO tool for simplix packs?
@Jamsmiter: With the OK from your convo peer, you can cite excerpts from convos here, but, please, don't present it as if it was a part of the topic flow, post them as raw text. The reason is that the quote points back to the original post made, and your convos are private, nobody can read them, not even the Mods. Only the URL gives it away that it was part of a convo.
I used Update7 Intergrator Tool by boss911 with /NVMe /NoUSB /FixOff /Optimize parameters ,i remember it is simplix recommended or this forum recommended ,and it runs good once i used 24.12.12 in windows 7 environment . I haven't try MDL AiO ISO tool for simplix packs yet
No Lucky, even i used Update7 Intergrator to process the windows 7 iso in windows 10 22H2 environment ,same issue happened again on the virtual machine. Maybe Update7 Intergrator is too old,can not compatible with the newer simplix's UpdatePack7R2 ? I will try MDL AiO ISO tool for simplix packs Hope it all runs well
MDL AiO ISO tool for simplix packs also FAILED Here is what i did: I used SiMPLiX_AiO_ISO_FULL_Tool_4_0_25.9.10f.zip Repalced 25.9.10 by 25.10.15 package in EXE folder. Consider that stability of environment ,i used Windows 10 22H2 Pro Workstation with latest windows ADK installed The Source ISO is original Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 and Windows 10 LTSB 2016 x64 I used W7_x64_Single_Index_Only_3.1_Modern.cmd Selected Ultimate index ,integrate DaRT and skipped driver integration for all wim files ,export as WIM W7_x64_Single_Index_Only_3.1_Modern.cmd runs well and no errors ,all runs well to the end and generate the final ISO Boot the ISO up to deploy windows ,after first reboot ,windows boot failed as the past. That is strange ,I have no idea now I'm thinking about keep my old windows 7 image which produced by version 24.12.12 well ,and just update .NetFramework and Visual C++ runtime manually for it . Little enough of the newer version testing
