Does the updates Simplix installs include neccessary drivers for USB3 and NVMe drives like the Gigabyte and Asus tools does? I can't fit both updates from Simplix and run any other tools on the same 4GB USB drive. Would be nice if running Simplix is enough. If so, it's strange not one of the many guides detailing Kaby Lake installs mentions SImplix, it's so simple after all.
Simplix Pack integrates all the necessary updates, that's all, if you want to integrate drivers, you will have to integrate them by yourself by entering these 3 command lines (mounting, adding drivers and unmounting) => here extract "boot.wim" file from the iso then enter "boot.wim" instead of "install.wim" from the link otherwise you can use a special tool (windows 7 image updater) here that integrates these drivers automatically for you.
Probably too late for you, but I'll bet it's due to IDE/AHCI drivers mismatch between old and new systems. If so, you need to boot to a Win PE environment and edit registry of offline system. I use Sergei Strelec Win10PE which has built in remote registry tool. You need to swap the values of the following keys Start values from 0 to 3 and vice-versa HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\Msahci HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\Pciide HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet002\Services\Msahci HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet002\Services\Pciide This is because MS disables the driver that isn't used. You need to swap them over - in other words, if IDE driver was disabled and AHCI enabled, you will enable IDE and disable AHCI. Once done system will boot. Hope this helps you or someone else in future.
are you sure you followed all the instructions given in the link correctly ? that should work. ok if you don't manage to integrate the updates using the link, you can use another way to make this work, just go to first post then go to "Using UpdatePack7R2" part and follow the instructions.
ok, i was afraid youd say this, haha.. Because thats the method i do not understand..The examples given there i do not understand really.. i want to integrate the whole simplex update pack, and the instruction given there only tell me how to integrate the ie11? from what i understand.. i guess i have to do it the dirty way then, and etraxt the whole simplex update pack, and integrate each update one by one..with ntlite or such.. oh well, thanks for the answer my friend... edit: ill give it a try. i did missread the tutorial. it integrates all and ie11.. So, do i need to download this windows AIK somewhere so i can work with this? sorry for my noob questions
nice, oki doki, then i will try my best now.. hopefully it works.. ill be back if i have any questions.. Thanks a lot for the help, great Forum.. EDIT: haha, i think i got it now.. I did a misstake i guess, i used Windows 7 Image Updater from atak to integrate drivers and after that i wanted to integrate the updates with UP7Integrator, wich i guess was the problem. Using the "Clean" image now first it works, updates get integrated. So i guess this is the way: 1 - integrate updates using UP7Integrator 2 - integrate drivers using Windows 7 Image Updater from atak looks promising now-.
Glad to hear. yes that could explain what happened but the problem shouldn't have occured because i don't see how integrating drivers into install.wim can prevent the updates integration to be done using simplix Pack but it seems to be the case from the tests you did.
everything worked perfect now.. Just do the updates first and afterwards the driver integration... i now have an up to date iso with all drivers... Im happy as i can get now.. Thanks for the support
but you know atak's tool allows to integrate the updates and the drivers at the same time, i've tested it and it works.
