This. Basically, you get the necessary updates, BUT: - If you do not use any switches(fixon/fixoff), protection is disabled by default. - If you use fixon, protection is forced enabled. So those two switches should be added to OP so people don't get confused when they run inspectre and see two giant red NOs next to Spectre/Meltdown. Whatever can be integrated update-wise, simplix is integrating it, as far as I understand from his posts. After that it's up to the end-user to decide whether to enable the protection or not(the switches).
I've heard somewhere that simplix include usb 3.0 drivers. right now i'm updating offline win 7 with simplix, boss911 integrator. i want to know, if it will integrate usb 3.0 drivers in boot.wim and install.wim or not? or do i have to use in win raid forum drivers? i dont have usb 3.0 port right now to test. (p.s. i cant use win 10 boot.wim for compatiablity issue with older hardware)
Boot.wim driver integration example (perform on both boot.wim indices): https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-7-not-installing.71365/#post-1279535 PS, boss911 integrator does service boot.wim as far as driver integration: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-win7-distribution.45005/page-82#post-1414994
thanks @Enthousiast and @shhnedo for replying. as enthousiast said usb3.x integrator is present in install.wim windows directory. so i suppose it contain 'All' the usb3.x drivers and it will install necessary drivers upon windows installation. in that case i only need to integrate drivers in boot.wim to boot the usb from usb3.x port. but i dont need to integrate any drivers if i use win10 boot.wim let me know if i need correction in above understanding. (and whats with usb3.x drivers integration in windows recovery ?(in msmg) do i need it. thanks.
I didn't integrate anything into iso(I suggest you DO integrate at least USB drivers, you can always install others later) because I used a dvd and a ps2 mouse for installation. When I'm inside the OS I had a sh*tstorm coming: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/coffee-lake-with-w7-usb-ahci-mei-drivers-s-tstorm.76914/ That is not because I didn't integrate anything into iso. It must be something else. I couldn't figure it out yet. Hope it'll go okay for you.
i would like to comment a bit, but i hope there wont be any hard feelings. i used to do integration to iso manually, and it works, but i kinda stopped doing it as its not cost effective in term of time usage and every month theoretically got new simplix version. due to the trouble of manual integration, i give "Alternative Windows 7 Integator for Simplix Pack, by boss911" a try, the integration work, but the iso file dont work, it always show file not found error or stuck in middle during windows 7 installation. during the month of march and april, i install windows 7 on over 20 computers (desktop and laptop), the simplix integrated iso doesnt work on any of them. from the experience, i rather manually install the simplix. The trick of fast manual simplix installation is disable the system restore temporary during simplix installation. i think the issue is caused by "Alternative Windows 7 Integator for Simplix Pack, by boss911" over-optimize the iso file.
I've did fresh Win7 installs last year on 3 or 4 machines using an integrated ISO created with the boss911 Integrator. Worked fine for me, BUT I never tried using the /Optimize switch (just /IE11) Also, was using the current Simplix pack at the time (17.1.15) and the 16.07.1 version of the Integrator
nice idea. i just remember the failed ISO DID use the /Optimize switch. anyway, i doubt i will be installling much windows 7 just like when i am in March and April (over 20 pc) in near foreseen future.
