I hope the Creator's Update isn't as disruptive as the Anniversary Update. Man, I really had a hard time with drivers not working after that update, besides a lot of functionality of Group Policy and registry edits being removed. I'm with you, I hope they don't mess with Windows Updates with the Creator's Update. We'll find out soon enough.
@pf100 Hi I need tell for you one interesting thing that I found and is fantastic trust me; well I make downgrade of Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 (the best O.S. until now for several reasons) then making some tweaks for simplify use of the system I casually maybe for habit pinned wumt_x64 inside Classic Shell menu, as my system still fresh I need update it of course so I click in wumt_64 and this amazing application search, download and installed no less than 238 updates and all without errors!!! when task completed wumt only warning me to reboot the system so I proceed and another funny thing is when system start again Windows warn I need make several updates and for go to settings LOL then I make use of disk cleaner using Dism++ and after I see in C:\Windows\Software Distribution and NO found any files!! but for see if I'm correct in my reasoning I restart again to see some "warning on desktop" but nothing is show so concluding wumt_64 is the better and inteligent tool for Windows 8.1 & Windows 10 that I never see before telling about tools for updates more one time THANKS for your great contribution here dude and rpo also
I'm using the newest script from page one, why am I able to load Store and update Defender even after WUMT is closed?
I'm also able to check for update in WUMT without running the script first... so that means so is Microsoft. I never had these issues with the old script, any ideas?
"The specified service does not exist as an installed service." This error pops up on either running wrapper script 2.1.1 or wumt_x64.exe manually. WUMT launches but no update service (not Microsoft, not Windows) is available from the dropdown box. Windows Update is started by the script just fine. WTF?!
My fault. Part of the last line of code was cut off that left the windows update service running after WUMT was closed and it went unnoticed for at least two weeks. It's fixed now. My sincerest apologies.
Anything on this end? The script does not work for me. I posted earlier but no reply. It does not stop any update service for me. I can still access store, update defender etc even after I close WUMT.
Thanks. You were right. The issue is solved - it was due to Comodo v10 HIPS blocking without notifications. That new version (post-v8.4) has been a pain.
Well it seems to work now, the ending of the script you edited now works, but defender still updates, but the windows update doesnt, so it seems to be working.
@pf100 til now NO issues dude your tool is awesome don't worries maybe someone don't know work correctly with it
