For Windows 11, try this option: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown10-–-turn-windows-10-22h2-or-ltsc-2021-into-classic-legacy-windows.86552/page-64#post-1845182 Regarding EDGE, see what Keller says here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/slimdown10-–-turn-windows-10-22h2-or-ltsc-2021-into-classic-legacy-windows.86552/page-46#post-1814779
Yes I am already using this and this finished without any errors After reading this, I understand that edge browser policies are already included in v2.0 and above. I just have to manually install edge browser after the OS installation. Am I right?
Yes, from what I also understand, that would be it. And then apply the tweaks that are in the ExtraScripts folder.
Yes, just like SunLion, said, and the reason for this is it's the only currently known way to actually disable some of Ede's telemetry, and to keep it from running in the background after you exit it. Many other Windows decrapifier scripts and applications do the same thing for the same reason. The default Microsoft slipstreamed installation of Edge will always automatically restart crap, even if you manually force exit all of it, it still restarts and calls home...
I have used this and installed Windows 11 IOT Enterprise. I am facing 2 problems until now. 1. When saving screenshot it can not be saved 2. Windows update is not working, I have also tried toggle windows update script as said in OP but getting download error of 0x80004002
Personally, I haven't found anything in Windows 11 to please me, at least so far. So I haven't tested the above script.
I had trouble getting Windows Updates to work on the original v2.02 even after using the Update Toggle = enabled, and rebooting. For me the fix was to go into gpedit.msc ("Windows Update" section) and toggle any setting that sounded like it may restrict it to disabled + Apply, then back to Not Configured + Apply (to undo whatever reg setting the scripts did). Not sure which setting it is, but something is a bit wonky. After I got it working, I deleted the Update Toggle.cmd from "Windows" and the shortcut to it, and just use my old registry files to toggle Updates on or off. Gpedit.msc Examples: "Do not connect to any Windows Update internet locations" "Remove access to use all Windows Update features"
I have set this setting to disabled still I can not download windows updates Maybe @SunLion bro can check the error present in original slimdown 10 v2.02
Hi @ashish1989 In the original script 2.02: In the configuration below, if you choose 1, Windows Update will be enabled, but I'm not sure if the other items below will interfere. Line 83 :: Enable Windows Store :: 0 - disable Windows Store :: 1 - enable Windows Store, Desktop Appx Installer and Windows Update :: 2 - enable above + Store Purchase and Microsoft Account :: 3 - enable above + Calendar, Contacts, SMS, Calls and Tasks permisions :: 4 - enable above + Push Notifications, Location and all permisions You can check the lines indicated below, which make adjustments to Windows Update. For testing purposes, I suggest disabling all these modifications by adding :: (colon) or REM at the beginning of each line to be disabled. Do this, redo the process with slimdown10 and test in a virtual machine Line 2192 Windows Update Tweaks Line 2207 Disable Windows Update by default Line 2224 Disable P2P Windows Update
I'm editing the script to update the hfixes_all.txt and hfixes_ltsc.txt files and, along with that, add the option to create a log file at the end of the process automatically. I downloaded the Windows 11 you are using and will try to do some tests. Be patient and wait...
The script is not executable, automatically closing after running within a fraction of second Tested on two different machines Also need to know what policies needs to be changed or removed in the script for the following in Edge 1. Show Home button and its customization 2. Custom New tab page with search bar and favourite website shortcuts 3. Enable google search suggestions in search and address bar
