Oh well, I'll just leave it alone for now. It's possible I'm not getting the Windows Update Cleanup option because there are no updates to clean up, but that folder is somewhat big. Thanks for trying to help guys.
Vista was the worst, as it also didn't have Windows Update Cleanup. For Windows 7, maybe this? Always have a backup until you're familiar with the tool.
Thanks very much for this. Managed to clean about 1.8 GB with it. Also very simple to use and it's tailored to only clean the Winsxs folder. Exactly what I was looking for. Could a Mod mark this thread as Solved please.
According to @harkaz (on his thread at MSFN) it's the wrong way to go, it may brake some important system components, so better to avoid using it for this propose. only if you are very familiar with all the removed things and know how to manually omit those specific parts.
Dism++ doesn't break anything. Harkaz says prefers to keep the original winsxs files. However Harkaz own program removed IE 8 when I tried it.
