I see where you're coming from but I doubt very much that users trying to avoid spyware and Win10 will be able to avoid this. It's a battle like a dog chasing it's own tail. I want to keep Win7 and on that basis I've done a clean install of Win7 and under no circumstances will I be allowing it to use Windows Update for any reason. (Should say that it runs fine without being updated anyway.) Only way that I will reconsider that situation is after a year has passed and see what MS is doing then - maybe they'll still keep pusing Win10 and spyware after a year has passed.
Thank you for sharing this, JanCerny. I didn't know Microsoft was also abusing it's customers through Windows 7 and 8.1 as well. Now I do.
I think you should include this two to the first post and Script: KB3083324 Windows Update Client for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2: September 2015. This article describes an update that contains some improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. KB3083325 Windows Update Client for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2: September 2015. This article describes an update that contains some improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.
Hey all. Just a quick one regarding the vbs scripts. Is there a particular way to run these or just a double click? All they seem to do is create a wscript.exe and do nothing no matter how long I wait (several hours so far.) Smetimes they spawn 2 or 3 more wscript's running but no result? Most other vbs I have run instantly?
New undocumented updates (I'm runing on Win 8.1 Enterprise Volume): KB3107998 (security update for Win 8.1 x64) KB3092601 (security update for Win 8.1 x64) KB3101746 (security update for Win 8.1 x64) I have no idea what is it.
