I just got a computer with a graphics card that's not locked to win10/11 and I'm curious as to what issues I'd run into trying to go back to windows 7. Are there any major issues I should be aware of or will everything be ok? Should I avoid windows updates completely? Quick note: Please keep in mind that I don't play any PC games. All my games run on emulators and work flawlessly on Windows 7.
Internet browser support might be an issue, if you don't search for alternatives. Updates - you don't really need them. Install "7" with SP1 and then update it to the brim with simplix update pack, can't go wrong with that.
After 17 years of updates, many years after official public support ended, now this question? Create the uptodate ISO and then you can forget about updates: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-aio-iso-with-install-wim-esd-creation.79421/
You want the Simplix updates, for secure boot. It's better if your graphics card has a combined Win 7/8 driver package available for it, and if your machine has class 2 UEFI. These make it easy to set up your system before turning off compatibility support, and then secure booting. Otherwise, you would have to learn a bit more to set up your system with UEFI7. Browser support is not good, but I like Win 7 enough to put up with sketchy browsers for now.
