savest way is 0. check if you have a hidden partition with recovery files on your HD -> in this case you need a recovery CD from your Manufacture (or a software wich can recover the partitions backup files) -- usual PartitionsManager Files 1. you have to check what OEM you have (check the COA on the backside of your PC) - MS OEM - Dell OEM - or other OEM manufacrure the german MS OEM (you need a MS OEM Key) Code: F57E2DB12AACEDAD72E4ED06D03CD75D0CB12F65 *[DEU] de_windows_xp_home_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_OEM_20080414.iso i have no german Dell OEM (works only with DELL OEM key 2. (not save) read out your BIOS and modd the MS OEM CD with the DELL files (you can still use your Key) 3. (~ilegal) modd your bios to use MS OEM CD with MS OEM Key PS: de_windows_xp_home_edition_with_sp3 is for a leagal MS FPP Key and not for OEM if you have a Medion PC (Aldi-PC) and a recovery partition i can help you
