I am a learn as you go kinda guy but sometimes certain things that are computer related fly right over the top of my head .. Started this thread so you/I can share things that are Tech related that you did not know and have a chance to publicly humiliate yourself Here we go public humiliation #1 I've never known how to insert text to replace a Hyperlink other than in Microsoft word What I learned today in vBulletin which is what we use on this forum I believe ? If you highlight the text you want to attach a link to and then click on the hyperlink icon paste your url in the box, your done .. I know a lot of you already knew this .. Why didn't you tell me ?
I liked that link you provided but I will probably still stick to just pathping -? for the info on that command or any other dos command for that matter but thanks I did learn a couple of other commands in that link that will come in useful in the future
When I switched to w7 I missed the 'one folder up' button at the explorer and I missed the path info ....like C:\folder1\folder2\test.exe a real long time. But it's been too easy. Just click in the bar (empty place) and it shows up the path you may copy and paste. To jump through the path's hierarchy just click on the folder's name at the bar, to choose another one click on the arrows of the corresponding path hierarchy......... ....and the second thing I had problems to figure: To gain time at a script with no wait or other time related commands just ping local host and direct the output into a 'nul pipe' The company's admin here removed many commands and reconfigures my work PC remotely any time I reboot. The tool takes time until it has re-configured anything....but I don't like some settings. Since I had no possibility to delay a script I used: ping localhost -n 120 >nul .......to gain 120 seconds until my script continues to overwrite my admin's settings here @ the company.....
