    Why would you say that? I tried multiple antivirus software and so far this is one of the best, if not the best, it's light and effective. I actually installed Mcafee end point security in my laptop. Overall Mcafee is fine but it has way more processes running in the system and takes more memory.

    unfortunately Symantec now sold its antivirus business to Broadcom.

    I am sure Broadcom would like to keep this antivirus business among all corporations.
    Just not sure how it's gonna handle it. It might ask for activation like MS office.
    Plus current Broadcom is actually Marvell, which acquired Broadcom and changed its name to Broadcom. I heard the reputation of Marvell is not good - ah maybe it's just a rumor.

    Anyway, I use McAfee endpoint security in one of my laptops and seems it's fine. Just as quite as SEP. But haven't figured out how to exclude a file when it thinks it's a virus and pops up a dialog notifying you the file is deleted.

    @annieannie
    You disable SEP, restore file from quarantine and then create an exception rule.
    See picture:
    13-08-2019 18.45.27.ls.jpg

    Just to add: one parameter SEP make use of is checksum of file (SHA-256) wcich is saved in registry included in the exception rule.
    If file is only partial retrieved or damaged, checksum will differ from the complete file and your exception rule will fail.

    Thanks Borland.
    Looks like they have added SHA2 signature check in this version so new Windows updates don't get blocked...

    Does anyone know if there is a new version of SEP 12.1 for the new SHA2 update?

    No. SEP12 is EOL/EOS, no more builds/patches.

    Home come I do not see any patches to:
    14.2.1.1 (14.2 RU1 MP1) 14.2.4814.1101 August 20, 2019 ??

    Does anyone have links for the actual EXEs for this install (self extracting)?
