OK, but UefiSeven does not work on VBox because C0000 memory is not empty - error: Code: Unable to unlock VGA ROM memory at C0000, aborting On a real computer operating in the UEFI Class 3, the C0000 memory is empty and UefiSeven works.
@ExtremeGrief What is this computer? What and how many graphics cards? Do graphics cards have GOP or Legacy firmware?
I am a total n00b to using GitHub, how the heck to I get the files mentioned in the beginning of this post? I've tried to use the git program, but all it gave me were a bunch of folders and files that I have no clue what to do with. Can someone please help me?
@codyegan14 there's a "Releases" link on the right side of the page, where you can download the latest released uefiseven.zip.
So I am trying to install windows 7 ultimate X64 on an Alienware Area 51M R1. It has an i9-9900K, and a RTX 2070. I can get windows 7 to go through the first phase of the install, and then get it to go through the updating registry settings and it reboots and hangs. I tried booting it into safe mode, but hangs as well. Any ideas?
@codyegan14 did you follow the instructions for uefiseven? The part where you're supposed to replace that boot file with the one from uefiseven.zip?
Ok, get a clean iso + abbodi's addons from this post. Get simplix updatepack from this post(make sure you get the actual pack, if you get the downloadER you run it and let it download the actual pack itself). Put the iso, the pack and the addons in one folder. Preferably something like D:\win7. Drag the iso over to the updatepack.exe and let it work.
Or they can use MDL tool, better for newer PCs. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-aio-iso-with-install-wim-esd-creation.79421/
Will there be any downsides of including this if you are using a UEFI-CSM (aka Class2) mode? So could create master image which would work with all installation types: BIOS-MBR & UEFI-GPT with CSM (Class2) and without (Class3). That would mean that including it as-is also the CSM users would go through UefiSeven, but does it matter? From what I understand if you use force_fakevesa=0 (default) option, if the int10h handler exists (which is the case when using CSM mode), the tool does nothing? And only installs the fake handler on pure UEFI mode, when it's needed?
my ASUS ZenBook was running Windows 7 64-bit (MBR/NTFS) as I couldn't boot Win7 in BIOS UFEI, had to go MBR. After reading op, weekend took a try. UefiSeven_1.30 (latest version) It's so easy. Right like the op title, "UefiSeven: Easily boot Windows 7 on UEFI class 3 devices" ASUS ZenBook is with an old CPU (6th Gen Intel), NOT UEFI Class3. Its BIOS just a simple UEFI, but a headache for me years. Thanks for a simple and easy fix (UefiSeven 1.30 efi size, only 95kb), manatails !
Nice, I got Win7 installed on two laptops ASUS ZenBook and Lenovo Yoga. BIOS UEFI boot. ASUS ZenBook was my 1st test. when all issues fixed during its install, I tried 2nd one Lenovo. a quick and clean install.
