@Alexandros C. Couloumbis Yeah, UEFI Class 2 + CSM Disabled + GOP firmware graphics card = UEFI Class 3 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...uters-without-bsods.86331/page-2#post-1816168 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...uters-without-bsods.86331/page-2#post-1817486
Practically, I think installing win 8 dev preview would work better, then you can install a start menu app and make it more, 7 ish. Alternatively, if someone does manage to get a working system, perhaps sysprep it, imagw it to vhd and upload it someplace so we all can enjoy
@Mstarter No, no, no - ISO UEFI boot require efisys.bin (floppy image) written to ISO bootsector !!! EFI\Boot is only for USB boot
I have Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 iso. After reboot, the EFI folder is missing on the HDD. The path (HDD)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot is missing. But I have the path: C:\Windows\Boot\EFI\ With files: bootmgfw.efi, bootmgr.efi, memtest.efi. And with folders: cs-CZ, de-DK, en-US, etc lang-folders... What to do? Thanks. HP Elitebook 840 G7
Maybe path (HDD)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot exist on hidden partition on HDD (not disk C:\)? And question. If I integrate the drivers for my Intel VGA Adapter into the iso (install.wim), will Windows not stopped on "Starting Windows" or stop? Thanks!
depends. For UEFI Class3, or CSM (if available) disabled, you still need something like UefiSeven, Flashboot Pro patching. GPU drivers (if available) are not guaranteed that will work under UEFI (no CSM) MDL Win 7 Tool for SiMPLiX UpdatePack AiO ISO integrates latest UEFI & NVME windows updates along with USB3.x drivers a mission (close to) impossible with Windows 7 & UEFI & CSM (if offered) disabled is video & GPU drivers best approach would be to get a system with CSM support & an external GPU that does offer drivers for windows 7 you may then start playing with legacy boot, UEFI CSM on & finally UEFI CSM off upon success, you may create a custom windows 7 iso for a laptop or mini-PC with similar specs or simply create an external Windows 7 to Go disk
Hi. What KB updates are required for Win7 for UEFI Class 3? I'm missing an image Windows7_Pro_SP1_x64.iso the EFI\Boot folder... Maybe the problem is the lack of KB for UEFI Class 3. Can you write a list of KB required for UEFI3? Thank you very much!
Hi, man! I install Win7 Pro today. I don't integrate KB for UEFI. Only NVMe and USB were integrated. Work for me: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...systems-without-csm.80876/page-2#post-1607164 Thanks for comments!
I downloaded latest version of UEFI Seven. But still Windows 7 installer hangs on Starting Windows. I'm using Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64 ISO updated with Integrate7. My laptop specs are: Dell Inspiron 5491 2n1 Intel UHD Graphics Nvidia GeForce MX230 2GB 8GB RAM 512GB SSD. Please help
Switch to iot ltsc 2021 to avoid windows bloatware and use oldnewsexplorer + openshell better than use old windows 7 .
causes the vm to not boot. "unable to find any master store for loader /usr/shar/ovmf-x64/2016/OVMF_CODE-pure-efi.fd" edit: nevermind. turns out capitalization matters. uefiseven still doesnt allow windows 7 to boot in qemu though. using that linked ovmf build appears to change nothing except make the mouse and keyboard non-functional in the VM. i managed to capture the error screen though, but seem unable to upload a screenshot. the error is "unable to unlock VGA ROM memory at C0000, aborting" "Could not find Windows Boot Manager at '\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.original.efi' even though that bootmgfw.original.efi DOES exist and is is named correctly. clearly a bug in UefiSeven's filesystem handler. trying to start in safe mode results in a freeze after loading disk.sys update: no longer getting the file not found error, after reinstalling windows 7 and re-applying uefiseven. windows7 still wont bootup at all. still gets stuck after loading disk.sys when attempting safe mode. trying to boot normally just results in typical stuck at "starting windows"
