I Installed Vista Ultimate x64 sp2 and ran the new update Vista-v1.01.0097, {on my HP 8200 sff,} I chose populate full, Populate extras, after it was done updating I tried to update thru windows and I did get that damn error C8000266, So I installed the new BypassESU-LH-v8, rebooted and I got updates!
So how do we go from here once Vista finally hits EOL early next year? Will we see a SimpliX Pack esque solution to integrate all updates?
I second this, a simplix pack-esque Vista update and driver integrator would be a godsent, and would allow for offline integration of them into install.wim. It'd speed things up a ton.
I will wait first to see what kind of updates we get and if M$ broke something etc. Then most likely I will update it. Please note that this script is for live (as in an installation and not an ISO) update.
@dateno1 Thank you for the links! The script with the updated links for 2026-01 is uploaded now. I am still installing on a VM and will mention if I see any problems. Lets see if we will see any out of band updates in the feature..
it would be super nice to have a tool like simplix pack and "MDL Win 7 Tool for SiMPLiX UpdatePack AiO ISO (with install.wim/esd) Creation" from Enthousiast. its fairly easy writing a new simple script that integrates all updates, abbodi has several so modifying one shoudnt be too difficult Edit I believe something failed on Wave6, i noticed some errors but was too slow since I was doing something else.
If it was so easy you would have done it. As someone who has done I can tell you that it is fairly complex.
I wasnt specifying what would be easy the script itself, the language and the layout we know. Making everything work perfectly is the more complex part.
I apologize for the late reply! I can say that I understand well the system. Where I can improve a lot is the scripting itself If you have any ideas let me know.
