    I know this is an old thread but I'm trying to active an old HP laptop I don't have the recovery disks for. I usually use your tool to active the retail XP install I have but I'm getting the failed to read registry key error you patched. This patch is no longer available however. Do you still have the working tool? I think for some reason the PID keys are not present on my install for whatever reason.

    I have SP1 but it still couldn't find the Pid value under the Pid key - I added it manually (blank value) and it worked!

    I don't know it there are missing files because it is telling me that can not find the appropiate files

    I have used the tool several times with or without the slp tatoo but this time at the momment of sayin yes to proceed it closes
