If the format were wrong, the setup would not continue & you would have to input the key by hand. What is your SLP setting (or did you use modded BIOS?) - check it with oembios.exe Do the oembios.* files match the SLP string? (I suspect not) sebus
the oembios files i got from: hxxp://oembios.net/ B6F0EEFD "Dell System", "Dell Computer", "Dell System", "Dell System", "Dell Inc" i have original dell optiplex machine.
so, here i am again. i did not change anything with my bios. i ran the tool oembios.exe with this result:
So then you have NO problem, just use one of the sets of (oembios.*) and install. And if setup ask for the key just type in it (how difficult is that?) But as was said, no quotes & it works (the set you downloaded from me is ALL you need) I think you are making it more difficult than it needs to be, sorry sebus
I just realized one thing, ((I don't have any experience with X64) shouldn't some of the files be dropped into an AMD64 folder for XP 64? I assume these files would already exist, so it's just a question of replacing them. I said earlier to replace these file in the I386 folder, but for XP64 i'm unsure?
My post #11 has it all. Nothing to add, as it works. If somebody can not follow instructions maybe this is not the task to take on? sebus
i tried it several times, maybe i am to stupied to do. the problem is not to type in the key but i wanted to create a cd because i have more pc's to install. everybody who has or had a dell knows how comfortable it is with oem version of windows. no headache with wpa, wga ...
i am looking for an original dell xp professional x64 oem iso file. i bought a computer with the coa of this os on it but i have no cd. maybe somebody can help ???
Forget that you need to add the key plus an oem slp cd will only install on the brand of machine it is made for. You could use oemscan for multiple machine but if you can't make basic oem cd i doubt you will get oemscan going
