Hello, so what audio(sound) output are using on your computer? Earphones/Headphones/Notebook speakers/Simple 2.0 speakers, or something more interesting? Write even it's better Earphones/Headphones, like Koss or something else So here's my answer: I'm using soviet union times(manufacture year 1987) russian amplifier "Amfiton u-002 Stereo Hi-Fi" (2x35 electronic watts, hardware restoration done by me in 2009) connected 2 philips music center speakers(pretty good sound quality) and subwoofer from russian S90 speakers, placed in 120L(made by me too) case pretty good for movies, walls are vibrating in another room(checked on mom) when watching movies. And sometimes I'm using my Koss KTXPRO1. Oh, and it's on my notebook(nc6000) because its connected to TV using port replicator with RCA cable
Mind posting a picture of the amplifier? Just using standard output and a 2.1 system - not what an audiophile would call good but it serves my purposes.
i use Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 Pro Sound card - 96 kHz - 24-bit connected to usb port with dr dre beats headphones and also connected to yamaha receiver through spdif/fiber optic digital input
I'm not audiophile, I just don't like headache from bad sound quality Some 2.1 systems are good... like creative. I'm a technician... last week I had some M-Audio stuff... 2.0 speakers that cost ~270 bucks for repairs, and what can I say, I can compare them with Creative 2.1 system
Some names mentioned in this thread I don't know if they are speakers or nuclear submarines. I'm using Creative X-Fi Titanium PCIe sound card and Logitech z5500 speakers and they work good. Before that I had the x540 speakers which are excellent budget speakers especially with the matrix button option. The Creative Crystalizer is worth the money for the sound card alone
For everyday use i have a set of Creative Inspire 2.1 speakers powered by a Creative CA20k2 Audio chip. Sounds fair. When i need performance for movies and music i pull out the big guns ....... my pride and joy. Its a Pioneer VSX-LX 52 AV Receiver connected using hdmi through my EVGA gpu. The amplifier produces 150 watts RMS per channel and i currently use a 5.1 setup although it can run 9.1. I use Mission M33 for front left and right (bi-wired), mission 700 rear left , right and centre. It sounds astonishing but the speakers are due for upgrade and im planning on getting the Monitor Audio RX6 package. If your interested the amp is here . Take a look.
like R29k mentioned, it sounds like nuclear submarine name to me but I bet that quality is impressive. Had somethink like it about 4-5 years ago For that time they were good for me. Then I placed 12v 2Ah Li-on battery into soobwoofer and made portable 2.1 system, until friend haven't made short circuit in amplifier chip... Good old 80's, Technics was making great hardware at that times Speakers looks great, and quality seems to be sweet too.
do you have ortofon concorde or sure pickup on it ? shure V IV with hyper elliptical needle have best funky sound with 1.3 grams pressure on top of the plate (rubber) just put cotton cloth on it. (vibration filter). ~old bone edit: I forgot to say I have Technics SU-V505 (A class amplifier) with Infinity Q Jr. Speakers.
I have not bothered to put extra money for sound output, as I don't listen music any more. Only crappy Logitech 2+1 speakers connected to on-board audio. Used 4+1 before, but after I somehow ended up burning 2 speakers and SB Platinum, I had to give up fabulous kX Project drivers and start using on-board audio. No more MIDI connection for keyboard, either. As for headphones, my precious Sennheiser HD 25-1 are good enough for me. They were hideously expensive when I got them, but surprisingly, spare parts are still available. One has to wonder why people are so willing to put so much money to PC sound system, while IMO it would be easier just connect them to amplifier of your main home entertainment system? Unless PC is that for someone?
I use the onboard sound of my ASUS P5K, with a 2.1 Speaker Set SP-3500X (1600P 2.1 SoundForce). But for audio and video I use a Z-2300 2.1 Speaker System. I also have something better, but haven't used it for (too many) years, I hope to use it very soon tho I'm talking about an NAD 7225PE AM FM Stereo Receiver with KEF C75 speakers. I'm sure canouna will appreciate this When I still used vinyl I had a Technics SL-5, I loved it
nice headset buddy! kinda big but the sound must be outstanding, I guess j/k Can you connect them to a walkman as well?
On board sound of Asus deluxe boards have a superb on board sound chip already so I use it. 5.1 system made by Teufel The Teufel Concept E². (They don't ship with those ugly stands., lol) It comes with a remote control. Headphone Beyerdynamic dt 880 Anyway I do not listen to music at my PC very frequently. Therefore I use my old stereo: Onkyo amplifier with IQ speakers, Pioneer DVD player and Linux PVR / media server. (vu+ duo) Music and sound are very important to me. I am an audiophile person.
I'm using the SPDIF out of my EMU 1212m to the SPDIF in on a Yamaha HTR 5560 amp that goes out to Left,Right,Left(rear),Right(rear),one Center Channel and a Sub @24 bit 48,000hz
