From my own experiences, I had found that, Still, chrome has failed to display texts properly which are all written in languages other than English. And the worst thing is that, there is no caret browsing at all.
Before I don't liked Google Chrome, but nowadays I like it a lot. It is much faster than Internet Explorer. And it render pages quite well nowadays. Sometimes I have to use Internet Explorer 8 (in a Windows XP machine), and it have really problems to render many pages. It also crasches sometimes.
While googling myself I came across an old post and have decided to update it after 5 years. Normally this is a no-no, leave it alone its dead… But Google Chrome has become my favourite browser. Back in 2013 I was messing about in the installed directory for Google Chrome and discovered a lot of useful things. Backing up Bookmarks used to take way too much time on other browsers such as Safari and Firefox. Now it literally takes one minute to back up all my bookmarks and login details and of course my folders on the bookmarks bar. Customising chrome is easy with a few extensions & turning them off when not inuse. I have Google Chrome standard installed. Google Canary and 4 Portable chrome's installed with custom icons. I use pale moon as an alternative. My first post #55 Sep 15, 2012 I wasn't fond of chrome. Needless to say I'm glad Google Chrome exists as it makes my daily life easier. I am afraid not ALL the way. Many streaming sites now avoid it by using a new set-up for their site, that will give you a pop up no matter where on the site you klick. There is no way to klick on anything on their sites. like f.f. Full Page, without triggering the pop up....
You can use uBlock Origin protector list (filters) to prevent pop-ups like (please disable your adblocker) Cheers!
Thanks, but.... I cannot see any "protectoir list" amongst the avaialble filters.... ??? The "please disable your adblocker" pop ups are no problem.
For me ........ 1.) The bloat ( yes it's bloated ) 2.) The telemetry ( everyone knows that Google is all about telemetry ) 3.) Security, a lot of Chrome extensions are riddled with security flaws. 4.) Extensions, I would refer this one back to number 3. 5.) Firefox Quantum is worlds faster than Chrome
-> Ublock Origin -> Click on it -> Settings panel -> My Rules -> Then add this to prevent-pop ups.. -> no-popups: * true -> then press Save and exit uBlock origin panel.
Thank you, I will try it for a while. so far it works. What do I do if it is a website where I NEED the pop up, like banking or shopping? Can I simply disable Ublock Origin?
Just click ublock icon and then click disable/enable button, it will remember it. No such pop ups, when ublock disabled for any site ...
