Check the project folder for the updated ISO, a mounted ISO can't be modified, it most likely will have created a new ISO (if set).
Thanks, I see it. It wasn't an ISO but a collection of files in a folder called "DVD7UI" (setup.exe, bootmgr etc. - the ones that make up the ISO). I made those files into an ISO using InfraRecorder (a program) but when I try and load it in VirtualBox it doesn't work. Should I expect that to work? In the readme it says I can open the .ini file but I don't know what value to set the ISO field to, I don't know what makes a target a distribution, I don't know what an ADK is or where to find oscdimg.exe or cdimage.exe. Please help I will be very grateful.
I don't know that software, it probably doesn't create a bootable ISO, use an ISO mastering tool like Ultra-ISO/PowerISO, etcetc... the project could have created the ISO for you, when set to do in the settings/ini. Did you read the included readme?
I did read the readme. I would like for this to create the ISO for me. It doesn't do that by default though and I can't figure out how to make it do that. I mount the default Windows ISO, I set the target as that ISO. I have "WHD-W7UI.ini" opened. "ISO =1" is the default, but it doesn't create an ISO. Just a folder with files that make up a Windows ISO file.
Because you didn't provide either cdimage.exe or oscdimg.exe (manually or by installing the ADK deployment stuff), which is needed for ISO creation.
Glad it worked for you. I'm not sure why the .cmd files were not created on your desktop. @abbodi1406 would be better to answer that one.
Should I just use Simplix instead? Is it ok to ask what the key differences are? Are the telemetry updates excluded from Simplix also excluded using WHD-W7UI_6.6 (WHDownloader)? Or I'd have to somehow do those manually? Is that what the "RunOnce_W10_Telemetry_Tasks.cmd" (that was supposed to be) on the desktop is supposed to do? Anyone got any advice? Just trying to remove as much telemetry as possible.
Still need help with this. I'm installing via VritualBox and there are no cmd files on the desktop. I installed the IE updates this time yet the IE version is still 8 upon install. Viewing "Installed Updates" shows 2 updates (not sure if they should show here anyway?) How else can I check to see if anything has actually worked without checking for updates via the internet? I've tried many times to no success. About to give up and forget about modifying an offline image.
I don't know why they are not showing up on your desktop. Possibly @abbodi1406 can offer some guidance.
Installing how exactly? you used WHD-W7UI to integrate updates into instal.wim? or you use it to install updates after installing OS? i either cases, you should watch and share cmd window progress
The target is a mounted Windows 7 Home ISO which I use WHD-W7UI to integrate the updates into. Am I supposed to direct it to install.wim? I can do that but had no idea that's what I'm supposed to do. I'm pretty sure everything completes without errors in the cmd window, but I'll try again and check.
