My computer is reset to Acer oem win11 21h2 version.I want to updating to 23h2 but failed. WU doesn't Work(The device is missing critical security updates. Please ensure the device remains powered on and connected to a power source to allow the updates to complete)
So I wonder if WHDownloader can do it?

Is an Updates download tool only.

When you first update 21H2 to 22H2 by using the updates downloaded by WHDownloader and next try to upgrade to 23H2 or do it by 23H2 ISO, or clean install 23H2 directly..

I would assume it got wiped, so at this point why not just perform a clean install with an up-to-date iso and be done with it?

Because it is an oem system, improper upgrade will destroy the restore function.

What restore function? I always fresh install windows on my own hardware, first thing i do :D

iirc, it is useless after the upgrade anyway.

Which is practically useless when you have a usb stick with windows on it... Quite literally sitting there wasting your disk space.

I love this awesome forum and community. I've been here for nearly 6 years without asking any questions, but abbodi, should I mount the install.wim file, load the registry softhive, add the QualityCompat registry entry, commit/unmount before running WHD-W7UI/WHD-W8.1UI, or should I add that registry setting to the updated live os?

    Thank you,

    Jon

Latest versions of the scripts add the registry by itself

Awesome and thank you. Would I be wrong to assume that Enthousiast's MDL Win 7 Tool for SiMPLiX has taken the same measure as well?
