thank you for the explanation and suggestions. When I am visiting him again, I will check vimeo and bitchute to see if Youtube is the only site with stuttering.
It may have a lot to do indeed. A youtube video is a generic term that basically means nothing, what counts is what kind of video youtube decides to serve (they have multiple version of the same video), and that decision depends on the OS used, the browser used and possibly the location. Now maybe your PC can have a VGA capable of HW accelerated H264 video, but not VP9, but YT may decide to provide the wrong one. There are many browser extensions that force YT to serve a specific kind of video. But likely the best way to use YT on a low powered PC is to not use a browser at all. Just use a recent version of MPC-HC video player + youtube-dl Just put youtube-dl inside the MPC-HC main directory, then paste the video url to the open dialog. And enjoy.
Sadly, I forgot to check memory. Other specifications are: Mobile intel(r) 945 express chipset family Conexant high definition audio Intel(r) celeron(r) m cpu 430 @ 1.73 ghz
I downloaded clamwin, but had no time to install it yet. Trying to update windows defender always leads to: ‘no updates found’. Nevertheless, wd always complains about being outdated… Sadly, I forgot to look at videos on bitchute and vimeo.
After trying a lot of browsers, Mypal seemed to show Youtube as best as possible (with minor stuttering). I have kept this browser and firefox esr, but I might remove firefox in the near future.
I tried downloading the Mpc-hc video player and youtube-dl from github, but I can’t find a download link anywhere. I’m probably out of my depth here and could use some pointers or someone pointing the way to the correct download link.
The laptop I use is 3rd generation Intel with 16 GB of RAM, so I use Vista 64-bit. Its drivers and apps are also 64-bit.
If I am running a 64-bit operating system, I prefer to use a 64-bit browser. There is no need to try to stir up an argument.
Nothing to stir, i prefer to understand what's going on over liking 64 because it's a bigger number like a 12 year old kid.
But does he indeed like 64 better, because it is a bigger number? Anyway, as you advised me to get youtube-dl from github, would you kindly help me in finding the download link of that particular item? Or maybe explain to me how to get it myself? Or maybe I have just overlooked something obvious?
