Mint experience? Better installation, as in better drivers, no kernel panic, no problems unzipping packages, no initframs issues etc. And post installation experience is similar, getting anything one needs and making it work...
I had tried it before and wasn't convinced... But last 2 PCs I needed to sort out for for my kids did prove to me that out of a few versions of Ubuntu, Zorin, EndlessOS and whatever else I tried - Mint had the best installer and everything else, more-or-less... Mind, the Ubuntu 16.4 modified as I described earlier - works wonderfully well in my laptop, with 3D Compiz and all... Superb! But don't forget: Ubuntu made it possible! Yes, Nodnar is right about the snooping in it but it is possible to get rid of it easily...
@ gorski yep I agree and I also like Ubuntu 16.04 very much do you remember when I tell something about 3D Compiz is simply fantastic 1.000 times better and beautiful than Windows 7; although is a little complicate to configure
Well... in that case.... I have asked it in Linux Forums, I have asked it here: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/setting-up-second-display.78224/ How can I change the settings for my second display? In Windows the NVidia Console allows me to resize, in Mint no such thing, in Nvidia no such thing, on the TV no such thing.... In Win7 it is simple and easy. I can feel with that guy... it is my fifth attempt at Linux too... another day wasted for nothing.
Same goes for you wise Linux man. I have wasted a whole day... or do you have a solution to offer? https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/setting-up-second-display.78224/
Hi everyone. First I want to tell you I am not English native speaker and for that reason I hope you can understand me, Haha. I am starting to hate windows because it is full of bugs. I am used to use Office and it's important for me using that tools. I tried to use LibreOffice but is not the same (Or maybe I didn't try enough). The other problem is I use iTunes and it is not working on Linux. Do you recommended me to move to Linux Mint 19 and install Windows in second part of the HDD to use iTunes and Microsoft Office? I was reading about Windows 10 LTSC (or something like that) but it's still windows...
Hmmm, perhaps you need to wake up and actually FIGHT IT, eh? Do you think you have the guts to do it...??? Because, there are distros without it, even if we couldn't remove the telemetry from (newer) Ubuntus... and we can! Need to distro-hop might be just for fun, adventure, informing oneself, seeing what's out there, searching for something that best serves your needs... But it also may be because of some issues, from installation, to drivers, to speed, to coverage of apps to....
Most people do not really want freedom, because freedom involves responsibility, and most people are frightened of responsibility. lol sadly but true
You do realise that you are giving your arse away to whomever wants to bang you, do you not? Besides, It's harder without people like you...
