Worked like a charm, created USB installation media with Rufus, ran the installer in Windows, upgraded 21h2 to 22h2 retaining all apps, settings and files. Very very easy. I have one problem that I hope will resolve itself, Windows Updates has updates that will not install - 2022-09 Cumulative Update Preview for .NET Framework 3.5, 4.8 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11 for x64 (KB5017859) Updates working after a few restarts, so all is well. Many thanks
@Kim100 for upgrades you don't need to create any USB installation media, just fix the ISO and mount it in the running OS and start setup.exe.
Ok, thanks. I was going to do that and then bottled out, the USB route seemed a safer option. Thanks again for this tool, brilliant.
Then you simply can extract the ISO to a folder on the drive or usb key and start setup.exe, you only need a bootable USB/DVD when clean installing from boot.
I I always create a bootable USB because I will invariably use it multiple time, often for a fresh install on a family or friends PC. I will have this one handy for as long as 22h2 is the latest build, as it has worked so well this is now my go to installation method
Its probably very clear for you on what this tool does but for a noob what does it do? Can you do a clean install of Windows 11 and also works with Windows Update with no TPM? Could someone kindly explain in simple way on how to use this and also how to get genuine ISO with Windows 11 x64 Swedish? Thanks in advance
From the OP: Option 2 will create you a fixed ISO for installation of win 11 on most unsupported hardware.
It takes a Windows 11 ISO as source and applies fixes to it for skipping hardware requirements (CPU, TPM). Use the resulting ISO and you can, on unsupported hardware, install fresh or upgrade alike.
Ok got it. Will go for option 2. Will Windows Update work? Second, how to get Windows 11 x64 Swedish ISO?
