I have been gone for awhile out of town for work. Since then Windows has updated 3 new flights. I come back and try using this tool. But every time I try to unzip it the 7zip process fails just places a empty folder that can't be used. I looked at the properties for the tool and unchecked the Blocked/Locked file. Still I can't get the file to unzip. I can open said file by double clicking it but I'm unable to do anything with it. How am I to try this tool if I am unable to unzip it with out errors?
This tool is an ISO preparation tool, for switching channels just use the original https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...without-microsoft-account.80145/#post-1670528 script.
Updated to Win 11 Boot And Upgrade FiX KiT v1.9 https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/win-11-boot-and-upgrade-fix-kit-v1-8.83724/ Changelog: Code: v1.9 Removed the need for mounting boot.wim, speeding up the progress
I believe i tried one and it failed, did you? And again, what does it really matter, as long as the one provided by the tool works?
I just love to know more at times. Guess a "appriserres.ddl comparsion" thread might help here... But ya, it doesnt matter right now. To me its about the details and understand more about this file. Give me some time.
I have tried to use this tool with no success. Both options 1 and 2 fail to produce the desired results. I was away for a couple of weeks due to work. So I think I missed 3 flights that installed when I was in Pensacola, Fl. My Specs. ASUS M5A97 EVO rev.1 motherboard with a AMD FX-8350 clocked, Samsung 4 SSD's. Works well for what I need. Failure happens with the TPM 2 and Secure boot everything else is green light for compliance with Win 11 hardware restrictions. I have read someplace here that The TPM 2 standard modification was not going to work from 22000.1. So once again I used 21390 as my Win10 ISO and 22000.51 for my base Win11 ISO with option 1. Once again this attempt like many before this failed. All that I can figure is MS knows all hardware details for every install of Windows in a data base. Is there a way for me to get around the requirements or will I have to revert back to Win 10?
Thank you so very much Sir. I have enabled the software Bit Locker without TPM under Group Policy using a password. I think that I stumbled across my way of doing that while you were typing your response to my inquiry. I will check it now to verify. Again Thank you so very much
Yea, the "interesting" part is, telemetry started with rundll32 and appraiser.dll back in Windows 7 (KB2952664)
Mind to enlighten me a bit then ? appraiser.dll = When "CompatTelRunner.exe" is started in combination with it, it collectes telemetry data (back in Windows 7 it needed rundll32.exe to run) Appraiser also seems to be responsible for how often windows update gets engaged and what will be downloaded. There are stories of high CPU usage and HW-firewalls not liking it, because it contacted adl.windows.com too often etc. blah. appraiserres.dll = -Has the word telemetry all over it and is filled with "Microsoft Compatiblity Appraiser" = CompatTelRunner.exe -Has lots of hardware IDs enlisted. From intel Iris to blah. -RES in the file name might point to the word ressources ? So a ressources file... (?) Its a long way for me, I admit, but Id like to know more about this exchanging of appraiserres.dll and its origins. For example whats missing exactly in the old version, that it works like this right now ? (Please dont just answer with TPM now) Yea, In the end it doesnt even matter, but isnt sharing = caring ? xP
This tool only works for now on Pre-RTM version. Who knows what M$ will implement in its final release. Its a silly way to go, to a dead end to investigate this now. See what comes in the future.
