Can someone plz help me with installing win 11 pro using usb flash dive with a windows 11 iso on it to a external usb SSD. I will use an old pc I have and will disconnect the internal HDD so I wont get confused. TIA
Can't you just first install it to the ssd when it's connected to the sata controller and next put it in the usb casing and use bcdedit to fix the boot entry?
As far as I know, only WES family can be installed on external devices or USB devices... Will not be a Controller) driver conflict?
You could also use Macrium Reflect 7 or 8 and clone an internal HDD to an external USB Drive, as long as there is enough free space on the USB Storage Drive. I use to do that with external USB HDDs with no problems. If you do such, don't forget to also clone those 2 system partitions (~54MB & ~500+MB). Do the cloning of that total of 3 Partitions in the same manner as they are located on the Origin HDD/SDD. That's a quite fast job and could also be used as a backup as well! With Macrium Reflect you could do a lot to secure your systems and data! Macrium Reflect 7 could be downloaded free of charge as well!
wintohdd are for clone or install without use of usb key and dvd , for portable windows => wintousb aka windows to Go
I've had W11 installed and working great from an external drive since first beta but now can't update as it detects its in an external drive. Amy ideas on how to get back on Dev and start updates again?
The easiest way is to install it as Windows to Go using Rufus. No need to modify the original ISO. Performance is super.
