Yes, I am running Win 7 Pro x64 SP1 and it is a OEM key. Is there something there that doesn't make sense?
No It's cool, try downloading DAZ's loader, follow the directions, see if you can upgrade to Win 10, do not save any programs or settings when going to Win 10 as they may not work in Win 10. No Anti-Virus can be running when you upgrade to 10 when you get DAZ's loader working, download Win 10 pro from the top link in my sig, it will ask you 2 times when installing Win 10 for key, SKIP both times
Now I'm confused again. From what I've read, DAZ's loader is not for Win10. Have I got that wrong? Don't I need to DL the Win10 ISO to upgrade?
Update: I got a successful DL of the ISO file. I used Firefox with the "DownThemAll" down-loader extension. The DL stopped (Failed) at around 2.6GB as all other DL methods had done. It clicked "Retry", and the DL continued from where it had stopped. The remainder of the DL had problems too. The progress bar stopped moving and the was no increase in the download size. I "paused" the DL and then "Resumed" it, and the DL continued on again. I did that 3 times before the DL was complete, but I got it. I burned it to DVD and it appears to work. I have not done the upgrade yet because I want to update my Win7 drivers first, and do a little reading. Thanks for all the assistance !! You guys are great !!
L, Install Windows Updates Mini Tool in Sig, set to notification mode, will play sound when you have new updates/ then you select which updates you want to install/hide, Neat Tool Instructions on how to install in QUICK LINKS
Enthousiast, we need your guidance on this, did he fail to make ticket right and was activated with DAZ's key Or maybe you can't make ticket with Win 7 Pro SP1 (OEM) DAZ, Yen, Tito we need help with this, several of us in Win 10 forum think it would be better if we all used same directions, we would write them with your input, submit them to Enth for his OK.
You're not the problem here, so put your mind at ease. I'm glad that downthemall worked for you. I used to depend on it on an internet connection that randomly disconnected a lot and it never failed to resume. When it stopped I had to pause it and resume it too like you did. I wish we still had the old norton utilities updated to now. I still have the old versions even though they're not useful anymore. I forget when they became bloated-sometime after symantec bought them out.
L, No problem with you, just trying to figure out why one or the other methods we gave you did not work, looks like you are activated on DAZ's loader and not ticket, were just trying to figure out why ticket did not work, heck maybe MS stopped it, that's all we're trying to figure out.
L, you may want to run that get product key again as it gives you OEM key plus installed key. It also allows you to Save copy, place it on another partition or hard drive as a new OS Redstone 2, Windows 10 is due out I think around Apr 17. It's in QUICK LINKS, the key finder
Now I know why I thought he was on Win 7 Home Premium Sp1, OP did not state Pro version, so I thought it was Home, my bad.
I still need to comment on what is being said here. Just using the ticket may have worked. I don't know if I needed the loader or not. I used the Loader because it was suggested that I do so. I was able to activate on the first attempt after placing the ticket in the proper folder, and entering the key the Loader provided. Both were done at the same time. Reboot, connect on line, and I was activated. The problem with failed methods was concerning the DL of the ISO file. Nothing more.
